For Blu Ray Movies Only but I have a few games for my son now that I do play too.

Mid 2007 I stopped buying DVD's altogether and decided I would only buy HD movies but because of the format war I didn't know which way to go so I waited. The same day Toshiba annoucned they were out, I bought the PS3 for Blu Ray Movies. I had previously done research on which players to buy for both formats and PS3 sounded like the best player there was.

I didn't care that it was a game machine too like some people do

Some act like they are less of a man if they own a video player that is also a game machine.

I brought it mainly for the Blu ray and the occasional game exclusive. I own a 360 and play most of my gaming there. I was hoping to play FF on it but now i hear its not exclusive. God of war 3 is a must. I try to keep the ps3 for blu and exclusives so i can prolong its life.

I bought it for the Blu-Ray Player and for the Games. But mostly for the Blu Ray.

I own PS1, 2 and PSP... always been a fan of playstation games... but I was more and more a "casual" gamer... so I've bought the ps3 mainly for the blu-ray player... but ever since uncharted, heavenly sword, ratchet, MGS4... I can't stop playing anymore!!!

D) Play PSone games
E) Play SACDs
F) Play DVDs
G) Got it at a discount with the purchase of my HDTV last year.

My original intent for purchasing my 80GB PS3 was as a Blu-Ray player as I got it on sale for $450 as CompUsa was having a Going Out of Business sale so I figured that I might as well.

well.. my friends and i were talking about how cool a ps3 would be, and as I was the only one with a job, I was considering it. I then decided that it wasn't a wise financial decision, and that I should save up and wait. Then, my friend (without a job) said that if i didn't, he was going to. (with money from his parents or savings or whatever). I REFUSED to allow someone w/o a job to get one before me, so I went out next day and got one. Best purchase EVER!

I wanted a Blu-ray player 1st and a game player 2nd I had a 1080p 47" westinghouse one of the first true 1920X1080 resolution HDTV with 1 HDMI input on the market. 3 months befor the PS3's release on November 17 2006. get my PS3 on November 22 2006 had the wait 5 days.

I bought mine exclusively for gaming, I already had a BD-P1400 for movies. The PS3 is pretty awesome though, it was an excellent purchase!

Other reason's:
Game's and Blu-ray movies.
Successor to PS1 and PS2.
