World of Zellians announced for PS3

World building simulations haven’t ever really settled properly on home consoles as much as their makers would have liked. The market may be there, but a control pad is no substitute for the ease of use of a PC’s mouse and keyboard, to which the genre is more naturally suited. Still, Portgual’s Gameinvest aren’t letting that put them off, with the development of World of Zellians – announced today for the Sony PlayStation 3.


In World of Zellians, you are, funnily enough, the ruler of the Zellians, and it’s your job to transform what begins as a primitive race into a fully-fledged, intelligent urban society. This means building a working infrastructure including streets, homes and farms, and keeping them all in check.

If managing a whole civilization wasn’t heavy enough a weight on your shoulders, you’ve also the responsibility of protecting the Zellian society from an evil god called Zorm. Zellians live in darkness and fear of Zorm, and players must provide a positive force that brings hope and happiness to the Zellian world. Area by area, you must infuse good karma to your people, in order to create a happy and balanced place for them to live.
