Well, there are so many other more important documents and/or "life changing if lost" type of "things" that would require every one of the few seconds of attention that I could spare that my Blu-rays wouldn't even cross my mind for an instant.

What a strange thread to create.

Pretty sure he's just asking which film you own has the most value and used an extreme example. I really doubt most would risk their lives to save a disc. It's just a hypothetical to induce discussion.

Yeah, people take threads like this one far too seriously.

Anyway, I'd probably save this one:

The same thing happened in the satirical OCD thread recently revived about separating your collection from those of your spouse and kids. I can't believe how literal people take these silly threads. You expect such responses in the CRITERION threads, of course, but that's its own planet.

As for me, it depends on how fast the fire is spreading. I might go online and check this thread to get some ideas of what to save.

The thing is with threads such as this, they are not discussions one really expects to see from adults, but rather from adolescents, for example when there is a group of them travelling to or from school on public transport these are the sorts of conversations I hear.

Because of your avatar I read this comment in Walter White's voice, as if he were lecturing to Jesse who gave him a tiresome hypothetical question about what blu-ray he'd take if a meth explosion blew up his house.

There's one plastic case that has all of my James Bond movies and all of my Jean-Pierre Melville movies, including the out-of-print Criterions. It would be just as easy to grab that whole case as it would be to grab one single Blu-ray.

I dunno about Blu-ray, I'd go for my Japanese Star Wars SE laserdisc boxset signed by Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Warwick Davis.

Christine, just cuz it's signed by Carpenter to me.
I would go for the signed and framed Halloween laserdisc first though, but in reality, they would probably all burn. Like others have mentioned, there's way more important stuff than movies to think about first. The laser would have better odds just by being in my office with some of the more important stuff.

I'd probably grab my Halloween: The Complete Collection box set, since it's the most expensive. My collection is small enough that everything else would be fairly easy to replace.

Screw the Blu-rays, I'm going for my Best Buy Exclusive metal box of the Star Wars OT DVDs, which includes the UOT as "bonus discs." (Although I consider them the primary discs!)
