More like they cater to the casual/family gamer at a cheaper price point (unless theres some bundle deal+ gift card on one/ps4)

There were tons of games on Wii arcade that I'd have paid full price for on 360/PS3 but that didn't make me run out and buy a console.

You should be able to find it cheap. One thing I really liked was customizing my assassin with colors which is a small feature but something I liked.

If you don't play MP or co-op you can still do the missions but they can get pretty hard alone. I have only tried a few alone and they were pretty hard even with me being a higher lvl than what they recommended.

Yeah I just gave my buddy a one I had sitting around yesterday, and he asked about gaming prices I think you can get a digital download of black flag and unity for 27 bucks or 23 bucks used [but the code works] and hard copies of both for 9-13 bucks respectively used on amazon. And actually I think black flag is selling for more used than unity lol... Either way new both are less than 40 bucks and less than 30 bucks used.

Yeah, AC games always drop in price very fast after release.

Agreed. I NEVER pay more than $20 for an Assassin's Creed game.

I always get them from Amazon's or Target's B2G1F sale. Not sure if I'll skip Syndicate this year and get something else though. Battlefront is something that can go either way for me.

I like the quick change of weapons that were in the preview. I would be nice to have some streamlined combat like Bloodborne.

It appears that AC partnering with MS for Unity was a one time thing.

That last trailer posted by Detective has me almost convinced to give this one a go.

The industrial age looks like a fun setting.
Enter the train interiors I hear will be possible. I hope so. Like in Red Dead Redemption or Watch Dogs (unlike GTAV which doesn't let you walk inside the train).
The stage coaches. Closest thing to a car back then.
Jacob's black uniform looks cool, nice change of pace from the lighter tones.
The zipline looks like fun in the Arkham Batman and Just Cause style.

I haven't played the series since ACI and ACIII, part III of which I felt was too heavy on story and not enough action, plus the fractured world wasn't the best set up for an open world. Hopefully some skill during the climbing and balancing sections will finally be required instead of the game doing all the work for the player.

No continuation of the major storyline, i.e. Desmond style, is my biggest worry. This whole "working for the enemy and hacking from within" storyline is weak and overplayed.

Yeah, I loved the Desmond story line. I enjoyed the present day stuff with him and I actually thought they could make a decent spin-off mainly focusing on present day assassins and templar.

The weakest parts of all the games was the present day stuff with Desmond. It was for the best that they downplayed it since they wrapped up that part. IMO, the series doesnt need the Animus or present day stuff anymore. I really dont think it added to IV or Unity and seemed to be there to remind you that this was still a simulation, even though it didnt seem to serve any larger purpose

Couldn't agree more. I get annoyed every time my game gets hijacked back to modern day for some tedious hacking games and sticky note finding. It completely breaks the immersion of the period game and adds nothing anymore. They could drop the Animus and Abstergo completely and AC would retain its identity just fine.

AC4 could have been an new IP about pirates, and I keep hoping they bring back the maritime game with an Asian setting. The colonial age and the spice and tea trades would be perfect for the Assassin's Creed story.

While I certainly agree with the modern parts being semi annoying, it's the story itself that mattered to me.

Remember, there is a meta to the whole war between the Assassins and the Templars. And that meta was beautifully written. Even seeing the potential futures for Desmond was great and explained his choice.

I guess if Ubisoft kept to it's original plan of Desmonds arc over 6 games culminating with him becoming the "ultimate Assassin" having learnt all the skills from his ancestors then we could have seen some pretty cool present day stuff. But as it is they decided to break away from that plan and ruined the present day story line, Nolan North said he hated what the eventually did with Desmond to what they had originally planned, I guess annualising the game became more important than story in the end.

The only AC I played was the third one. I hated Connor and hated the Animus crap. With that being said, I had a lot of fun playing it.

I'm not the biggest AC fan, but my wife is. She just finished Unity and told me that there is very little Animus and Desmond (?) stuff in it. She loves the French revolution and yada yada yada... recommends the game.

I agree with that... They had something they could have fleshed out and been a culmination of all the games, possibly even explaining everything thats going on with all these games... Instead we just hip-pity hop from one story to the next lol.
