The Fantastic Four's Battle With Doctor Doom Sounds Epic
Quote:
I don't know why "director says his movie will be awesome" was made into an article, but at the very least the action scenes will be better than anything we've seen with the Fantastic Four. I hope they're shown actually working as a team and they all have that moment of "okay, we have these powers, let's use them" and whoop Domashev's ass. I also hope for an "it's clobberin' time," accompanied by a giant Thing-on-Domashev ass beating... but that's just me. |

If there is any ounce of truth to Vaughn's involvement, my curiosity for this film just jumped 500%.

Jonathan Trank should tranq himself so we don't have to subject ourselves to his movies anymore. Then again this could end up being like GoTG and shock me after I see it. Difference is the previews completely swung me around on that movie. I believe it's less than 1% of the time I don't like the previews for a movie and end up liking it anyway.

Dear Fox: Please take a production photo of your actors in more than 1 pose. Thanks.
Sincerely, Everyone |

I'm confused, what is the deal with them just standing in every poster/image? Show the supporting cast, show an image of a battle sequence, show them confronting Doom, show them located somewhere else besides that dreary backdrop.
I've seen posters for terrible movies that were great. Maybe they think the movie will be a huge upgrade over the marketing that folks will be impressed in some way----"Well it was better than the movie posters." "Yeah, it was." |

Fox didn't want to spend more money than they had to. One photoshoot, that's it. Soon we'll get posters featuring altered photos of the actors from other works.
There will be a movie poster featuring Mr. Fantastic, inexplicably behind a drum set... |

A lot of people have criticized Marvel Studios as having mostly crappy posters (I haven't had a problem with any of them), so while we can't say posters indicate whether a movie is good or bad, speaking purely about the actual posters, they've sucked.
It looks like any generic, action/sci-fi. The "scorched Earth" is reminiscent of any Young Adult adaptation out there. I miss the days of Drew Struzan posters... or when posters weren't conjured up by lazy designers with basic Photoshop skills. Maybe the artists don't care, maybe the studios don't care. It's funny - some of the best movie posters of all time are actually super simple. Jaws, E.T., The Exorcist, Ghostbusters, but they have this arresting iconography that sticks with you. Stuff like these Fantastic Four posters are just meant to be stuck in movie theater hallways and on the sides of buses showing you the faces of the main cast in the movie. I'm not asking for much, but when you have over 50 years of comics to draw from, why not posters along the lines of images like this? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So many dynamic, fun, interesting poses, and they have these four standing there, "staring ominously." These comic covers are great because they imply action and motion -- the team leaping into an adventure! The less interesting ones are the "we're standing here looking like we're reading a map guide in a mall" poses. |

It always amuses me. From the producer of [movie], from the studio that brought you [movie], from executive produer [person who had practically nothing to do with the movie], etc.
