I bought the Armamentarium from him and it had a 140 rating.
Then, one of the Exotic Engrams I bought was the Armamentarium with a 163 rating.

Actually, I bought both Chest Armors from him and 4 Engrams and two of the engrams ended up being the same armor with better rolls than the ones he sold me.

It seems that Xur ultimately ends up just being a Heavy Weapon ammo salesman.

I have mine turned down so low I can barely hear it and people still complain, lol. The game has nice sound, it's a shame I can never use it.

Yeah, I usually play at low volume whether solo or multiplayer, respect to the family and people on the mic. I've only ever turned it up a couple of other times that I remember. This is the loudest I've had it.

The armour ratings were exactly the same on mine, so I just melted it, I got a shard out of it so I didn't totally lose out but it still feels like a massive disappointment.

Honestly, in my entire time of playing the game, Xur has always sucked. While Exotics are difficult to obtain in the wild, the ones you do find normally have amazing abilities and thus it makes it feel special. Like I've said before my first exotic, Hard Light, is my most beloved weapon - haters be damned but I've also found the Gjally and Last Word, both are fantastic guns and the Hunter Helmets I have found both have massively useful abilities. About the only Wild Exotic I found which wasn't particularly useful was a pair of Hunter Boots but they had cool green hologram panels so I like to equip them any way, haha.

Xur just sells generic and bland exotics, they function perfectly fine in terms of their light and their defensive capabilities, but once you get a wild piece with proper abilities nothing Xur sells is worth your time any more. Especially when he then trolls you with engrams.

Especially now I'm back at work as well, so I don't have nearly as much time - if any - to do raids, poe, strikes etc to farm coins and motes, the fact I emptied my mote pile to get an engram and receive exactly the same item feels more like a punishment than a reward for my time. I bought a half finished game, paid ridiculous amounts for expansions and I get a middle finger for my trouble.

And before anyone goes off on one, yes I'm moaning again, no I don't hate the game but I still find my points extremely valid if not salty and personal. Random drops are fine but random drops which turn out to be exactly the same stuff as the seller is selling, that is just bullshit, that just should never be a thing.
