I'm tempted to go and see this on my own Thursday evening.

I would suggest that if you want to see them all in the MCU then boycott this movie like I do with all the fox movies . I will not see any at the movies until they are in the MCU and there are more and more like me too . If everyone did the same then the rights would go back much faster . I am not saying don't see it at all , rent it or buy it in blu ray it doesn't matter just don't see it in the theater . I was boycotting Sony's spiderman too but not any more , we have won that battle now on to the next .

I went and found a website that lists all found footage movies so I don't make that mistake again.

I'm with you on that, I generally can't stand found footage.

Notably though, I actually did like Chronicle. I also like Apollo 18 and I REALLY liked Europa Report, but I like just about anything regarding contemporary space travel.

I'm hoping he changes his mind but I don't want him to leave me high and dry when I want to see a movie that he's not excited about.

Simple solution: he drives, you drink. Even a really crap movie can be made enjoyable with a buzz on.

This doom however in the clips and trailers can apparently, shoot some sort of green energy from his fingertips, manipulate matter such as all the formations of rocks and ground he was throwing at the four, repel Susan's forcefields and lock energy with her, that's already 10 times better than Doom's powers in the first film. Plus according to one of the early reactions, his motivation in this film is very much aligned with both Ultimate and Mainstream doom's thought processes. I'm optimistic for this film I like the visuals, the fact that in this one they are drawing from the ultimate comics by having the Baxter institute run by franklin storm as how the four come together, I even like the cast they are fresh and look like they have good chemistry. In regards to the whole age thing, most of them are the same age as the original F4 cast members were in 2004 with the exception of Miles who is only 2 years younger than original and Jamie who is the only real huge age jump for ben grimm.

In fact I was just reading one of the Ultimates the other day and almost everything in the trailers match up: Reed's childhood experiments, recruitment by baxter, the four getting powers from the negative zone, the army's involvement, doom's metallic transformation, doom being a fellow prodigy at baxter and working with reed, the army wanting to use the 4 for military purposes. I don't think trank/cast/fox let on fully how much influence they took from the ultimates, cause judging by the footage the answer is a reasonable amount. I love the Fox X-men movies just as much as I love the MCU so negative feelings surrounding the film from reactors or not, I'm going to see it, it might end up terrible but there's only one way to find out!

Ultimate F4 was one of the least favorite and selling version that has ever been published about the team.

I saw Europa Report this past weekend and wasn't impressed, I wanted to like it but just couldn't...and it's my type of movie. Yea or nay to Cloverfield?

As I said before, if the movie turns out to be pretty good, I'll admit as much, but I don't expect it to be great, nor do I expect it to the Fantastic Four movie I would still like to see.

Cloverfield is retty darn bad but its better than Chronicle.

I don't know about that. I can't even comment on the quality of its story, characters, or plot because I can't get past the "cinematography." It's just too jarring and distracting.
