I'm still hoping for one in the U.S. to be released. With Best Buy getting the first, Terrget the second, it'd be kind of cool if Walmart got this one. It may explain the lack of steels at Walmart this year, that they were holding out to secure this one.

I am waiting also. I already have steels for all the theatricals so completing the extended steelbooks would be nice. Isn't this about the time they start getting announced.

Why would Walmart getting other Steelbooks prevent it from securing this one? Do studios impose an annual quota for each retailer?

I'm completely guessing here, so don't quote me:

Walmart has had one steelbook release this year. ONE. Dracula Untold. Target has had a surge of steelbooks and Best buy (not counting the re-issues) has had quite a few and still has a few still to come out. I'm guessing the lack of steels for Walmart indicates they had to do a major bidding war with Best Buy and Target to (maybe) secure they get the steelbook for BotFA. I could be very wrong and Walmart has just opted to not do any other exclusive steels this year. I just think it would be cool if Walmart did get this in the U.S. as it would be a shared trilogy release for the extended editions between three retailers. And this coming from someone who absolutely loathes Walmart.

You're right, never occurred to me that all they had was Dracula Untold. I'll happily go to Walmart if they get this Steelbook. Would be even better if unlike BB (3D only) and Target (2D only), Walmart's was finally perfect and had both.

It is weird that Dracula Untold has been their only steelbook exclusive this year. And yes, to have both 3D and 2D would mean I could recoup some moola by selling the standalone 3D discs on eBay.

But if it included both, would that become a jumbo?

I think it would have to be - The Steel of the Five Discs

Sorry for hijacking the UK thread with useless U.S. banter. Carry on, all.
