Did you get to run it with your Warlock?

I was on with my brother and could've ran it with you, but I didn't see your post til it was too late.

LOL.

Seriously though, congrats. I'm still chasing that white whale in Dragon strikes. I'm hoping the next time the Messenger is being sold, I can get carried through trials far enough to be able to purchase it.

Speaking of Trials, a big thanks to Ken and Jason for getting me to 8 wins last night. It was fun, and I want to do it more now.

I did about 20-25 DS and never saw a single one drop for anyone I played with. I wasn't even doing the 28 for one. I was close to Judgement rank 3 so I was doing a couple to level up before the reset for the better packages from Variks. I was pretty surprised when I saw it drop.

I tried rolling it 17 times and burned through every weapon part I had. Back to DS for more weapon parts.

You going for a headseeker build or a headshot build?

From what I've been reading, the God roll should be:

Sight: Sureshot IS
Perk 1: Outlaw / Feeding Frenzy / Third Eye
Perk 2: Braced Frame
Perk 3: Rangefinder

I used to see Hidden Hand recommended, but since HP already has a 50 aim assist, with only a 55 max possible, the +15AA with hidden hand is considered a wasted perk. Also the braced frame + rangefinder seems to be the expert favorite based on the upcoming TTK 2.0 weapon changes.

Rocket launcher...meh. My God-roll Radagast beats it in every category except fire rate. Still keeping it, though. I also spent over 20K in glimmer buying and dismantling the fusion rifle for weapon parts.

The roll I want is Third Eye, Braced Frame and HH. I've seen that HH ends up wasting some of your perks but as someone who is still a novice to PvP, I need all the help that I can get. If I got BF and HH I could live without TE. I didn't get anything close to that roll in my 17 attempts last night. I'll spend a few days building up weapon parts and try again.

What would using rangefinder vs HH do for the build?

Decrease damage drop-off at long range when aiming down scope. Pulses are already great longe range weapons, this would help.

According to several people on Reddit quoting a gaming magazine, the new level cap is 40 and there will be NO ascension for old weapons.

We are also getting a new Ghost voice, and all old dialogue will be replaced by this new voice.

Game Informer is the publication. Read more here:

Quote:
Few games in recent years have generated the same degree of debate as Bungie’s Destiny. Whether it’s fervent enthusiasm or harsh criticism depends on your perspective. Some of the harshest critics work at Bungie, striving with each passing update and expansion to hone the existing content while adding meaningful new adventures into the mix. Upon visiting Bungie, we expected to find a game that continued the process in incremental steps. Instead, we found a robust reimagining of everything that has come before, along with the largest influx of new missions, maps, strikes, gear, and storytelling yet seen. We spent two days playing The Taken King and speaking with its creators, and this month’s cover story has the scoop.

Following on the heels of two smaller expansions, The Taken King is set to arrive almost exactly a year after the original game launched. In that time, a lot has changed about Destiny, but The Taken King is a more fundamental restructuring. A revamped quest format adds story context and a natural progression path to old and new content. A newly recorded actor plays the Ghost from the beginning of the story to its conclusion. And the entire leveling system has been restructured for a seamless and deterministic path from levels 1 to 40 (the new level cap).

As for new content, the focus is on deeper and more meaningful storytelling. Cinematics are interspersed through the story missions, offering increased insight into previously paper-thin characters. The Ghost is a deeper and more involved character, played by a new actor. An initial set of new story missions is just the opening act of a larger set of narrative-focused events. New subclasses have dedicated story sequences in which you learn about their use. New weapons have more involved lore and storytelling behind them, and increased power levels that move them beyond existing gear. Even quests in the Crucible have a narrative angle.

For the cover story, we went hands on with the new systems, missions, and game modes to discover the details veteran players are eager to learn. Equally important, we grilled Bungie about the ways in which Destiny is changing to invite new players into the experience, and even draw back players who may have disliked it the first time around. Our 14-page blowout also features more than 20 new screens from The Taken King.

Destiny: The Taken King launches on September 15 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360. Check out the full cover image below for a glimpse of the adventure in store for your guardian.

We also have a full month of online coverage planned in the lead-up to The Taken King’s launch, including a detailed look at one of the new exotic weapons, a video walkthrough of one of the new Crucible maps hosted by the level’s designers, and extensive interviews with the development team. Watch our coverage trailer for a hint of what to expect.

Our recent visit to Bungie headquarters confirmed what many fans have suspected for some time. Older legendary armor and weapons from across Destiny’s first year are not set to progress in power as Year Two begins. Simultaneously, dozens of new weapons and armor pieces are entering the game in an effort to revitalize the collection and discovery experience of the game.

Based on our time with the game, strong Year-One gear will serve players well for the opening hours of The Taken King, but new weaponry and armor will rapidly replace older items, both because of interesting new perks, but also for increased attack or defense values. The change also resets the gear progression flow through new Taken King-tier white, green, blue, and purple gear, providing meaningful distinctions between new items as you level up through the new content.

While Destiny has never strictly been considered an MMO, this approach for Year-Two gear echoes common practice in the MMO genre, including games like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV. Even so, it remains to be seen if fans are open to experimenting with the new arsenal if it means leaving old favorites behind.

“I definitely feel like some of our players are ready to play with some new toys,” says creative director Luke Smith. “And we’ve built a whole bunch of new toys. There are definitely some weapons that you are going to find better versions of – there’s going to be something that replaces that sniper rifle that you love.”
Welp, guess I'll be taking a break from Destiny for a month. I have all exotics so no need to keep playing if Year 1 legendaries will be getting replaced.

On the destination map, with all the worlds, there is a circle on the bottom right. If you click on it, it'll open up what's called Vanguard Strike Playlist. You'll play random strikes with a higher difficulty than the normal versions. The levels are from 18-28. They're harder than the vanilla strikes, but you'll get better loot. They're definitely worth playing for a variety of reasons.

Unfortunately, that PS3 Bluetooth earpiece you have wont work with the PS4. I have one for my PS3 as well, and it annoyed the hell out of me that I couldn't use it for my PS4.

I'm still clutching on to old legendaries when Year 2 Ascension is announced May 2016. Since they said the same thing before .But you're right , no point to collecting old stuff anymore .

Yeah I'll still hold on to somethings. The new gear, especially the weapons, better be really good if they want me to give up my Fatebringer.

I believe this is my last week with Destiny since I already have stuff scheduled with people. I've been saying my divorce date was when the new DLC dropped. Since the stuff I have will be completely obsolete without buying the DLC, there's no sense continuing to gather things for the next month.

Looks like everything is getting an overhall. The new DLC could be interesting if they mix a few things up. I still have better than a month to decided if I want to pick it up or not since I don't play like I once did.
