I'm glad I was able to get in the GB. However the payment is due in less than a week, and I'm a bit strapped right now.

missing out is a bummer, but worse when you feel cheated. when something is in the cart, it should be yours for a certain amount of time to complete checkout. i can't see how anyone could have checked out faster. i was in on it from the moment it went live and never even got to begin typing in my credit card info. oh well, looks like the Zeta one will be a consolation prize.

That's what I hate about Nova too. Well, that, and their terrible servers.

I think Plain Archive is the only company that holds the item for you for a few minutes while you check out.

I wouldn't mind but I ordered the Avengers one and checked out but did not pay until the following day but the order was locked in. I suspect it was already sold out. I would be interested to hear if anyone actually ordered this today.

HDZeta is sold out as well. They are now talking to publisher to add more copies for international customers.

Info comes from HDN

If you think about it, it's the only fair way to do things. I'm not a computer expert but there has to be some way of gaming the system. I got in on it immediately with a blazing fast connection and very quick fingers (or so I've been told) and I didn't even get to type in one number of my credit card. Sorry, you can't be that fast without some kind of advantage.

If you go online or to a ticket center to buy Taylor Swift seats, even if the event sells out in a few minutes, if you get a screen that shows you 2 seats, you get time with those seats to checkout before they get spit back into the system.

Again, I don't mind missing out. Disappointment is part of life and certainly not so important when it comes to steelbook collecting. I am feeling cranky about this because I honestly feel cheated. I had no chance, yet could have done nothing differently/better.

I've been purchasing limited run clothing items for a while, and it's the same thing. Adding something to your cart does not secure it. If you add something to your cart, and somebody else checks out faster...it's known as "cart jacking". It's pretty common, and I actually agree with it.

I think it would be more unfair to allow someone to simply add something to their cart, and then go walk into the kitchen, make a sandwich, take a #2, play with their cat, then get back to finish their order.

Having to be the fastest makes it fun, it makes it a game. Getting it into your cart is only half the battle. Finishing the checkout process is what makes it exciting.

I'm not saying what is right. What is right is however the owner of a website wants to set it up. It's their website.

But I certainly see nothing wrong with giving someone five minutes to check out if you get it in your cart. Don't complete it within that time and the item gets returned to stock.

I clicked "add to cart" within one second and still apparently had no chance. I agree with Veronica Mars that there have to be people who have some kind of advantage and we "normal" people will never be able to beat them.

I'm not complaining (well, I am a little although I accept that I got beat out) but if the game is rigged that way you could lose a lot of potential customers who just don't think it's even worth trying. They also might not buy other "normal" items from you they can get as easily from someone else if they don't like the way you handle the "competitive" items.

I don't think anyone is suggesting you should have hours to complete the transaction, depending upon how long it takes you to #2 and play with your cat.

Pretty sure most ticketing sites give you about 2-3 minutes to check out once the item's in your cart. You take longer than that, you're out of luck. And you could still be rewarded (as in the case with Plain Archive) by getting a lower edition number depending upon how quickly you check out.

But I didn't leave to go and make a cup of tea. The item was in my cart. confirmed my address (as logged into my account) and confirming credit card payment. Then all of a sudden I'm told I cannot buy.

I don't agree with your opinion on the matter but I ain't going to loose sleep. Too long in the tooth to worry about it. If the item is in my cart and the item was in stock at time of order as was the case with me I should be entitled to complete my purchase. Could you imagine being in a store and you have some cloths in your cart and someone comes along and takes it out of your cart. Unreal.

Oh, please don't say that Jessi, I had a very bad experience during PO ZDT. Didn't manage to get the Triple Pack due to inventory issue

I don't think Plain Archive holds anything. I've had problems a few times.

Well that contradicts TheGeneral's ZD30 buying experience because he said he was able to casually window shop for a bit before checking out (at the same time everyone else here was freaking out).
