I've always read that Roseanne was severely edited ?

Syndicated episodes are butchered to fit more ad space in, entire chunks of the show are edited, and are not what was originally broadcast on ABC the first time around.

Ok, yeah, I gotcha. The episodes in the box set are supposed to be the full, unedited, episodes .

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for veering off topic. You have helped me immensely ! After a little online research, I see Mill Creek rectified this situation in 2013. GREAT NEWS for me, and my son, who is also a fan.

Lowest I've found online is $25. give or take.

now back to my favorite decade, the 70s.

Awesome news! This series deserved a full series Blu-ray release. I'm glad the rest of it is coming out!

The Anchor Bay DVD releases of the first 2 seasons used syndicated masters, removing certain scenes to make room for more commercials.

I wonder if they ever found the missing footage from Season 2 that they had to replace with upscaled video.

Music cues have been replaced or cut out also. There's a patty duke show reference that was cut entirely from an episode that was a set up for a joke that now has no payoff.

Plus I wish they could have got Roseanne & John Goodman to cut a couple commentary tracks- yes I know they are busy, but how cool would it be to hear them on the pilot episode all these yrs later? 😉

Yes, they were. The only major character change from the Pilot going forward was DJ's character.

The mill Creek episodes are not the syndicated cuts. I own the set and the runtime for the episodes are 2 to 3 minutes longer than what is currently on Netflix or the original season releases.

I wouldn't count on it. I feel like there's a lot of TV shows released by Mill Creek that only got a season or two released individually along with the complete series.

This is awesome news! I don't have Netflix streaming anymore and I miss watching this series. Seen the whole thing 9 or 10 times and it never gets old, definite buy for me.
