Having gone from plasma to projector to LED like I said above, I can say that my LED LCD is pretty awesome compared to my old Kuro (going strong, but has the red tint effect by now and some serious burn in from too much Destiny on PS4) and my RIP ZT60.

Then again, I went with the high end 4K models, the Sammy JS8500 - and save for some funky effects during credits sequences, I dont regret a thing.

I will - get ready for this - say that overall, the JS8500 is superior to the 5020, and in some cases the ZT60. But for pure nighttime movie viewing, the ZT60 was better. May it RIP.

In one year I've gone through 4 different displays. Sheesh.

Well with the red tint effect it wasn't worth using as a primary anymore - developed that sometime in mid 2014.

So it's a gaming TV now, as 50" in 2015 is too small as a main display.

But yes, the IR is all my fault. I didnt want to put all those hours in Destiny on my ZT60 or my old projector lamps. Gaming at 92" from 7'-6" away is impossible in competitive player vs player!

I thought my plasma looked pretty good until I did a side by side comparison with a CRT. I was actually nauseated by the plasma's color, contrast and motion. LEDs are much worse, though.

What don't you understand? The thin junk they sell today looks like crap compared to CRTs.

Ha! I absolutely adored my Sony 34" Widescreen Wega TV. I used to state I'd put it up against any TV any day and got razzed to no end. Loved that TV. Truly the pinnacle of tube technology. Sigh.

That's an amazing TV, my Wega is only 4:3. Anyway, the only reason they stopped making them is because people opted for size convenience over quality. More or less like replacing film with digital.
