I'd call it a 3.75 out of 5, round it up for the poll.

For purely selfish reasons I hope this movie bombs. Fox has had enough bites at this cherry. Time for someone else to have a go. Plus I want to see Silver Surfer, Galactus and Super Skrull in the MCU.

Ironically I think the cast in the movie is just about superior in every part. All very talented people.

$26.2 for North American weekend box office and terrible word of mouth, disastrous critics and fans ratings and a projected 70%+ drop-off next weekend.
That's about $7 mil next weekend.
Ant-Man just made more than that on it's 4th weekend.

It is a bomb. No 3D, no China release and the trades have already dubbed it as such. but if you want to wait for the full post mortem......

Not having a China release is definitely doing to hurt it. I doubt the Chinese audience cares much about what American and European critics say about the movie, so it's possible it could have still had a strong showing there.

Is it going to at least release in Japan and Korea?

Why Is it not getting released in China? What is Foxs bottom line on final box office before they cancel a sequel though?

Every studio is only allowed to release a certain number of films in China, Fox might be saving the spot for a different film.

Don't know but I assume yes.

the China thing is they only allow so many foreign movies to play in their country per year. Does Fox want to use one of it's spots on this movie or move on? Also, China takes a huge % of the Box office--far more than US theaters. So again, it wouldn't add much to the take.

Exactly this, i would have like a good, even excellent FF4 movie but through the choices made it was going in the wrong direction. I'm glad if failed because then the studio will see that they made the wrong choices and were going in the wrong direction and the next time they'll make all new mistakes ()

But then Sony/Fox are a weird animal and i swear they must be a bit retarded. They absolutely nail the X-Men franchise, i was liking the second run at the Spiderman Franchise but they can it. I liked the 2 older FF movies but then lost control of this one. And yes, i still think they're making horrible mistakes in the Ghostbusters franchise and it's shaping up to be even worse then the FF movie.

I weep for cinema at the moment as Disney/Marvel/WB are the only ones that seem to know what they're doing at the moment and if it wasn't for them we'd be going through a very dark time in Cinema history right now

IIRC, China still restricts the number of foreign films exhibited domestically to some degree.

By 'we' do you mean people who watch nothing but comic book movies?

Because cinema is doing just fine right now and it's not just because of Disney or Marvel or WB.

They're probably holding that spot for The Martian.

2/5. Not as bad as Batman and Robin, Xmen Origins or Iron Man 3, but still not a good movie. Started off decent but then just go really messy. Doom was a joke and didn't like Jordan and Teller in their roles. Blake Nelson needs to stop getting work in comic book films.
