What don't you understand? The thin junk they sell today looks like crap compared to CRTs.

I missed out on the high-end CRT era, I just remember a 480p Trinitron 32" from my parents house, but I would never give that the edge to anything else.

But that's a hella elitist point of view.

A 480i Trinitron is better than anything modern regarding everything except resolution. The comparison I did was in fact with a Trinitron.

I picked up a 60" LG 60PB6650 through dell.com about three months ago for $749 taxed and shipped with a $125 dell gift card bundled. The model has some issues with pink blooming on a solid white screen, but that's seldom an issue with movies, as rarely do you have an overwhelming white scene.

Love the depth and contrast of color, shame the technology is largely being ousted in favor of LCD.
