Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm was the best thing about the movie, in fact his relationship with Reed should have been the center of the film. It's in those scenes where you have only Ben and Reed together that movie shines, and Bell is largely responsible for that. Teller by himself comes across as a smug jerk, but when he's with Bell you see why he would inspire people to follow him.

Jamie Bell is well worth the 2 on his own.

So you are saying the Teller basically plays himself?

I haven't actually been following his career or seen any of his media appearances, so I couldn't say.

It depends on your like or dislike of Jamie Bell. But the movie itself is a mess and has no real redeeming qualities.

WOW! Fox Studios has written off Fantastic Four as a loss. Now, they are still planning a sequel? 20th Century Fox has a horrible reputation. the only thing they love to do is make horrible movies, bad movies and cancel TV shows.

Hell, when Fox canceled Firefly and the series turned into a cult hit when DVD sets and Blu-ray sales went through the roof. Fox should not be allowed to produce anything.

Someone needs to tell Fox that any sequel is going to be just as disastrous as this current film.

Perhaps box office wise, but if they can find someone who actually respects the material and find a way to successfully meld Trank's version with the comics then could have a respectable adaptation.

I don't think they have any intention to make a sequel, just trying to save face a bit. FF is at least as big a trainwreck/money loser as Green Lantern and Amazing Spider-man 2; no way are they going to throw another $200 million at the property.

For those who saw Fantastic Four 2015 and didn't care for it, did you see Trank's Chronicle and what did you think about it?

Saw Chronicle, loved it. Still do. This movie being bad doesn't change the fact that, at least for me, that movie delivered, and was one of the best Super villain origins ever. I really do love that movie.

It would be amazing if they actually went ahead with a sequel. Could you imagine the disbelief.

maybe in the sequel, they'll use the deleted material from this movie and hire a new director to add more scenes into it again to reach 90 minutes.

I saw this earlier today. The absolute negativity that is surrounding this movie made me curious enough to go check it out. Funny enough, I kinda liked it. Although it is a bit uneven, a bit rushed (especially the third act), and lacking a solid level of character development, I actually enjoyed the movie.

It didn't quite feel like a superhero film at all to me, save for the last 20 or so minutes. It felt more like a science fiction thriller with a superhero element thrown into the mix at the last minute. I was never a fan of The Fantastic Four. It's a kitschy group of heroes that never really clicked with me... but this incarnation of the FF I could tolerate. I enjoyed the dark, serious tone that they went with. Apparently many people did not.

Definitely has some noticeable moments of re-shot material that comes across as rushed (3rd act) and sure, some cheesy dialogue & questionable character actions, but for what it was, I liked it and couldn't quite understand the hate.

Also... it's probably been mentioned before, but I really liked the Cronenberg influence scattered throughout the film.

I know right? It wasn't like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: DoFP were my two favourite films from last summer or anything... Oh wait...
EVERY studio has duds every now and then, whether comercially or critically, or both
