Have you never purchased a Capcom title before? First it's the original release. Then it's a Gold edition with some new DLC. Then it's the Ultimate version with even more DLC. Then it's the Extravagant version including all DLC previous released. Lesson from buying Capcom titles early in their lifespan: don't buy right away.

Resident Evil 2 I finally bought when it hit the greatest hits version, and it exceeded my expectations for a horror game. While not as scary as Silent Hill 1, it is a great zombie monster game with some great ideas, story and discoveries. The controls were a bit uncomfortable, but that is what increases the tension and horror.

This is a good point. While I can imagine diehard fans will want an exact replica of RE2, why not just play RE2 again on PS1?
So with that in mind, I wouldn't mind a few new surprises while maintaining the overall story, style and spirit that made RE2 great.

I wouldn't mind a choice. Over the shoulder default, and the choice of a classic mode with static cameras to match that of RE2, as well as tank controls or modern directional inputs.

Yes finally.They did great job with Resident Evil remake so I am hopeful that RE2 remake will be great

I was wondering the same thing. It was my understanding that she was supposed to be in the original but had to be cut and was later added to the REmake.

You mean Shinji Mikami and his team did a great job 14 years ago.

And he is gone now, so I have my doubts.

And he ruined the franchise by making it action based a few years later, and proved he can't make good horror games anymore by again making a crappy shooter in the evil within. So... No real loss there.

Same. I'm quite nervous with no Mikami or Kamiya. Even if the game wasn't a 1:1 remake like RE1 on the Gamecube, the fact that Mikami would be behind it would be reassuring. But that's not the case...so at the least, I'm hoping that Alyson Court returns as Claire. Speaking of Claire, I hope she's back to her original design, too.

I imagine they've been busy with scenario work. Planning on what new features to add, like Lisa Trevor in REmake. Hopefully like Verisimilitude1984 mentioned, now with RE7 out of the way, it should be full steam ahead with this game. I dunno why they wasted their time with that Umbrella mercenaries game (no offense to those who liked it).

Knowing how they love to release collections of the game so many times I am sure they will release a Resident Evil collection including remake, zero and 2. I am waiting for them to bring out Resident Evil Outbreak with online play it was such an underrated game that not many people had the chance of playing.
