I'm really intrigued by this, but just to confirm, the films are still in black and white? Not that I'm completely against black and white, I just like to see colour in films to really bring you into the experience.

Yes, they're B&W. As they should be.

While I haven't seen the Apu Trilogy yet, I did watch The Music Room and it was truly amazing and beautiful so I do agree that B&W is as they should be.

I am looking forward to see Apu Trilogy. I had such a wonderful time with The Music Room.

I've always found parts of The Music Room magnificent but the overall experience a bit hollow, especially compared to the Apu Trilogy (particularly Pather Panchali). But the Criterion disc has that great transfer and Ray documentary.

Wow, this is getting me very excited for the Apu Trilogy. I thought the Music Room really captured that loneliness, isolation, lost changing of India so well. Certain ways/tradition disappearing...

In preparation for upcoming trilogy, I am going to watch Charulata and The Big City. Been meaning to check them out after The Music Room but got distracted by so many others.

If you haven't seen the Apu Trilogy then you're in for a treat. I only ever watched it once, in college a few years ago for a report. I only hope it lives up to my memory of it, especially the first film.

Black and white is its own experience, and the only experience you need for these films. In fact, oddly enough, many people feel black and white is more stark and realistic than color.

Saw the newly restored versions of all three films in a theater here in LA. The new transfers are absolutely breathtaking.

These are some of the best films ever made. Thrilled to see they'll finally be coming to Blu Ray.

Just placed my pre-order but may cancel... this is a blind buy, terrific price but November will be a big month between Mulholland Drive and Inside Out. Still, want to lock in the price just in case I'm feeling good money-wise.
