I like my Bose. I guess that makes me an idiot, but oh well. I still love the way they sound. Don't really care about the technicalities of why they suck. Sounds good to me.

LMAO. I just figured out the chairman of Bose is a brown guy. That might explain why theyre so cheap. :/ (yes, i am brown. Yet i hate this guy)

If you like bose, there are 3 explanations:

1. The only other speakers you have heard are your TV's built in ones.
2. If you have heard other real speakers, you havent been able to compare them to Bose, thanks to their clever marketing tactics.
3. You need to clean out your ear-wax. No really, it can get serious.

That being said.... Bose are great for what they are, but you also pay way too much for what they are... I've rarely seen another small speaker with the sound quality of Bose, but they are out there... and for less money. But if size is an issue the Bose speakers are a good option for many people who cant do in-wall or in-ceiling speakers. If size is not an issue, you can get speakers that aren't a ton larger but sound tons better... like any decent bookshelf speaker.

But we are stupid enough to blow at least one grand on a speaker system (or gee, 3-4 grand on a whole Lifestyle system) that cost at most $200 for the manufacturer to make. You know those paper cones and drivers you love so much can be had for $35 a pair? If all you wanted to say was that you enjoy your system, you would not be name-calling and getting all worked up over the fact that others have differing opinions. My response was instigated by the fact that you said:

I have some cheap Yamaha speakers hooked up to a Yamaha rx 663 receiver and it sounds absolutely Amazing, and I only spent 400 for both, at Best Buy.( I got real lucky on an Open box, but still)

I DO NOT have an ass load of cash. But I have a loud, clear great sounding system.

I think Bose speakers sound really good, but for a third of the price, I get something that sounds equal( not just my opinion). I do not know alot of people with THAT much extra cash right now.

1) never said I would even buy these things again did I?
