Because when Blu-Ray came out DVDs became less expensive due to the new format. It won't be overnight obviously, but Blu-Rays will have to be cheaper to differentiate the cost for UHD as a premium product over Blu-Ray. Of course this will depend on how much the public is willing to pay for UHD though.
