The absolute best line in any move EVER was in District 9 - can't remember it exactly but it was critical that every sci-fi invasion happens in the US. It was a complete FU to Hollywood.

Also think they should have brought Frank_Darabont back to do it...put all the past tensions behind them and let him helm the new series.

The actor that plays Nick is another in a long line of English actors like the Walking Dead picked up. Apparently American actors aren't very good in zombie shows

. it usually works well though in this case I think he's trying to flex his acting muscles too much. He is a chronic heavy drug user in the show though so being a little off is probably pretty accurate.

Having said all that I hope he goes first though I know that is wishful thinking. I wonder if he will be another character that didn't function well in regular society but feels right at home in a zombie apocalypse where as the sister might be the one having trouble coping now.

Anyway, decent start. Wasn't expecting much more than character development in the first one. I for one will be happy that I don't know whats coming as opposed to TWD where you know milestone moments from the comic will show up eventually.

Definitely would have been kuool. But with the egos involved and money there was very little chance of this + somehow Darabont and Kirkman's vision would have collided. Can someone explain what these folks do or what they are responsible for on FTWD? Some responsibilities appear redundant. No need for explanations on stuff like make-up supervisor, writer or director. Why do you need multiple executive producers?

1 - Don't anyone that is expecting this to be a "quick-paced" show get any hopes up. AMC has said that this show will be SLOWER than the parent show.
2 - There was a lingering shot on the word on the board outside that said "Space" as in Outer Space. It was just odd that they lingered on that word... Almost like a hint that will never be fully realized or explored...

It's funny how we've been conditioned to expect fast paced, zombie filled episodes after watching The Walking Dead for the last five years.

It was refreshing to see a different take on the apocalypse. Sure, it was slow but it's building up into the world we know.

My only complaint is none of these characters are "likeable." I hope by the end of this season or perhaps next season they become likeable and badass like the characters we know and love on The Walking Dead.

I really liked it. I like the slow burn of it all. TWD pretty much threw you into the zombie apocalypse so I like the idea of easy into it. It makes it different from the parent show. I'm just wondering how they'll differentiate between the two once the full on apocalypse happens on Fear.

I found this boring and family had problems drama TV show more then a Zombie show.
I only like the dad (Travis - go figure cuz thats my name hahaha & the junkie)

For once I will be rooting for the zombies.

Also, in regards to some of the stupid characters...
Remember that there were NO Such Things as Zombies (Movies, Comics or TV Shows) in This universe. This is a "new" Phenomenon (Phenomena) in this universe!

Nobody has any idea what these are are how to actually stop them...

I really enjoyed the first episode, great cast Curtis, Dickens and Randy from the Wire are all excellent actors, plus the score by Atticus Ross

I love how different it feels from TWD. Looking froward to seeing where they take this.

Well me and all my friends were tuned in and watching, and pretty much in universal agreement that it sucked. We wont be tuning in next weekend.
