how to check UV code without Redeeming the code

hi, I'm new here and I want to ask you guys on how to check the UV code without actually redeeming it. any info is appreciated, thanks.

a UV code, i want to check if the code is still working but not actually redeeming it so i can trade it.

On your insert you should have the expiration date. Usually saids may not valid after the date shown.

You attempt to redeem it at VUDU or Flixster without logging in to an account.

Be very careful of auto-login though. I use Chrome to check codes since it doesn't try to auto-sign in for me I redeemed a Hannibal S1 because of auto-login

Yup - I use an alternate browser to check um UV codes that I am not logged into any services on as well.

Hi -

can anyone tell me.. when it says on top of the Digital HD paper it says it works with iTunes and also works with Ultra Violet.. does it mean the same code can be entered or redeemed twice ? once at vudu or flixter website and one more time with itunes website ?

new to this digital content thing..

That depends largely on the studio. The first post in this thread has general info on how codes redeem as well as a spreadsheet that lists how specific releases redeem:

new to this UV code or DIGITAL HD Codes...

I see just one code mentioned in the paper which comes with the blu ray but it says it will work with both itunes and UV .. how to separate the codes or get a different code for either itunes or UV.. as I want to sell the digital codes.. .. I usually only watch it from blu ray directly and have a lot of these digital codes lying around and I want to sell them off..

can this digital code can be separate for itunes and UV ?

the quick and easy answer is that Fox titles can be redeemed UV OR iTunes, but not both, but most other studios you get UV AND iTunes versions of that title.

And, the code sheets rarely "expire". Sometimes, maybe, but I have never encountered a code sheet that was actually expired. About a month ago I redeemed codes that expired in 2012; they redeemed.

This is why testing is useful, you find out if a code is still valid or not. SOMETIMES a code can be redeemed in Flixster (still ports to Vudu), but is no longer valid (for redemeption) in Vudu for some reason, even though the movie still ports (via UV) to Vudu once redeemed elsewhere (e.g. Flixster).

yes I was able to see codes redeemable from uvvu website or flixter..

my question was does the code allow to be used on uv and also on itunes.. or it can only be redeemed for one of them only and not both..

i actually wanted to sell all my digital codes.. so is there anyway I can sell the code.. but restrict the person to not be able to redeem itunes code if he wants to redeem uv code..... as the digital code paper the blu ray comes with has only one code for both uv and itunes..

All codes that say they are good for UV and iTunes can be used on both sites and give two different copies. EXCEPT for Fox codes with have to be redeemed at foxredeem.com and can only be used for one or the other, not both.

And there is no way to prevent somebody from using both portions of the code except to ask them to use only one portion and trust their honesty.

Yup. Codes that are used/expired/not valid will give you an error message instead.

1) log out of UVVU account. https://www.myuv.com

2) select the redeem tab or use https://www.myuv.com/en/us/redeem

3) enter code, hit enter once. note which services are available and whether the title is SD or HD. do not select a service and click-through as this point. if you click vudu and are logged in, the title will redeem. (even if you already have the title)

* if your code is from a different region, you might need to adjust the country location on the uvvu redeem to your codes location. you'll need a vpn/proxy to do this part

* if the code reports your code as invalid, you could be attempting to redeem via the wrong service (starzuv is funky about redeems for example) or you could have an itunes code or a typo.

* if the code is reported as used, the uv portion is dead.
