Supposedly, those 3 exotic class times won't otherwise be available until Jan 1, 2016.

I couldn't care less about the emotes, but the shaders would be nice to have, and the 3 exotic items would be really nice to have...especially if they aren't otherwise available until the new year. But at $80, it seems very pricey. That's why I'm leaning towards the bare bones $40 (digital) edition. Although, for us day 1 players, the $40 version will come with VIP in-game rewards: a sparrow, armor shader, and year 1 emblem.

So, what are you guys getting? Base physical version? Physical collector's edition? Basic digital edition? Or collector's digital edition?
I'm also leaning toward the $40 digital download.
It's a matter of principal. I've already put in $145 from day one. They aren't getting but the minimum from me.

I was just informed that due to Bungie's (Activision's) pricing rip-off mistake, we'll be able to purchase those emotes, shaders, and exotic class items with xp bonuses for $20, thus making the total price $60 for TTK and the extra stuff.

So I'm buying the $40 version.

In TTK, playing consecutive Vanguard Strikes creates a streak bonus, giving extra rep and better loot drop chances until you return to orbit

Just carried my brother and a buddy thru their first Skolas.

Definitely luck involved (If the bomb spawns anywhere other then at B where they died, it's game over)

Don't ask me why I didn't use my bladedancer more or at the very least to get the mines on time (I was saying in the mic, if you guys don't come with me to the mines, we lose)

I'm happy that I had the recovery and the armor boost

........

My back hurts

Also note that pre-ordering any of the editions comes with "early access" to the Suros Arsenal Pack and Vanguard Weapons pack. I believe this stuff is exclusive until 01/01/16 if you pre-order.

I'm buying the $40 version as well, mainly because I have multiple copies to get, in which case I also went ahead and pre-ordered the TTK PS4 bundle since I'm in the market and is the same price as a bare-bones PS4. It comes with the Legendary Edition plus the 3 shaders and 3 class items from the $80 Collectors Edition.

While the Thorn hasn't seen me suddenly leap to first place every game and get like thirty kills a match, the impact the Thorn has had on my performance is still noticeable as my K/D has really levelled out since gaining it. Even if I only get say ten kills in one match, my deaths are going to be at least as much but more likely a couple lower. While that may not mean much to many, that means quite a lot to me as before even on games where I got my kills near the thirties, my deaths were still probably higher than that to achieve such a thing.

Well I'm obviously late to the party on this game so, I've paid $45 for the game and all the current DLC. I have some PS card rewards I can turn in for about $70 in PSN bucks so it will have to be the digital version for me as well.

The most I've ever paid for any DLC up to this point was $15 for I think it was Need for Speed so I'm not thrill by the $40 price tag. It better be a lot of content.

If I end up buying it eventually, it most certainly will be the $40 version. I can't think of anything I care less about than cosmetic items. I'm probably in the minority, however. I know a lot of people love the different shaders.

I'm buying the $80 version. I want the strange coin. And I'll probably try to unload the original game somewhere to recover some of the cost.

The physical from gamestop? I'm still pissed that I never knew it was GS exclusive, and so I missed out on it.

Right there with you. I don't play as much as I once did so at this time I will be spending that $40 on something else and work on my backlog of games and movies.

Hey, thanks again for you and your brothers help last night on that 34 POE run I can finally get my character to 34 now. So I'll be able to be at the max for maybe a week or so before it gets bumped up.

That's fine I know the people that have been with this game since day one are really looking forward to being able to progress again. Maybe I'll start a new character when the new DLC hits. I'll be gone on vacation over the weekend hopefully I don't miss out on anything to big.

Ok. If I wait for a price drop of the Legendary disc edition will I still get the Suros bonus pack?

Isn't the Suros bonus pack a pre-order bonus?

If so then no.

As most others have mentioned, I will probably get the $40 TTK version if I decide to purchase it.

It seems like I remember reading that's there's a single rapid rank-up boon per account. Meaning you can start a new character once the DLC drops and have them high enough level to do TTK stuff instantly. That probably will be great for those that don't already have one of each.

I'll use that for my new Titan, but I'm running through the story again as a warlock, to see if the changes in ghosts really adds anything.

If I had decided earlier on and acted on it, I would have gone for the $80 GS exclusive "uber" edition. I like having the physical copy of the game with the extras. But because I acted too late, I'm forced to get the $40 bare bones edition, and that's fine with me. If I want to fork over the extra $20 for the shaders, emotes, and class specific exotics that you wouldn't otherwise be able to get until after the new year, then I always can do that.

After going to the PS store last night and purchasing TTK, I noticed that I had $40 in my (digital) wallet. I don't know how it got there, so I almost feel as if buying the game was free for me.

Um... That was my $40. I inadvertently put it in your wallet.
