Mine is sort of like that too. It's not that bad, but won't fully click shut. I really can't even tell what's causing it either, everything looks okay on the hinges.

Ok so just a hunch, keep an eye on your stores and the site on the 5th or 6th. My store was sold out but had a huge stack set in the store pick up area for pre order card people. I imagine they pulled a ton for those of us with the cards and when the reservation expires, after the 5th, maybe the ones that are left go back on shelves. Just a thought

I think if the images were reversed, and the steel had the 2 big heads I would've passed. i didn't even decide to get this steel until yesterday -- and that was only because the image was so cool.

Yes, my store did set one aside from me. I think they only got 2 pre-orders and I did mine yesterday. There were about 7-8 in the display. I didn't check in the BD section. I was first and grabbed 4 to pick out the best one. Another older guy (I was shocked, because I'm pretty old), picked up the other 3 to pick out the best from his stack, then he waited around until I put my rejects back to cherry-pick through my pile. I walked over to CS and after some reservations (and assurances that I would be taken care of), I let them do the exchange. There were 2 in the shipper when I left at 10:30.

I agree. I like this steel a lot.
It would've been a travesty if the steel had the other picture on it.
Then everyone would be wishing it had the picture of max in front of the vehicles.

I preordered the Novamedia limited edition 3D/2D one also.
I'll get another one, too, if there's an even better one to be had down the road!

This is a blind buy for me, but even I knew that the Steel had a more dynamic cover than the standard edition.

My inventory supervisor tried fulfilling a pre order via POS, but it came out invalid. Had we not kept the extra copy and walked around in the store for 10 minutes, I'm 110% certain that these two copies would have sold to whoever else came looking for them since BB employees weren't even aware of the situation until we brought it up.

I honestly like getting the digital copy early via CinemaNow through these pre-order cards. Either BB should fix the system and make sure they only set a limit of the pre-order cards they sell on a first come first serve (because BB had more than 20 of these pre-order cards...what good is it when they only get 8 in stock and the 12 other people get screwed over), or change it so that pre-order cards are mainly to get the digital copy early with the blu-ray combo pack, and that it does not secure a copy of the steelbook in any way if it can't be fixed in the system. Just my 2 cents.

Looks like I was lucky, this morning at my local store at 10:00 there were only 4 copies which dropped to 1 after I got mine and my friend got one for himself and one for our other friend who couldn't pick his up. Also looks like this one was hard to get, though I thought it would be based on BB history. My friends and I are lucky 'cause we are usually the only ones that come in at opening looking for the steelbooks.

Same with mine and I think a few others. The spine feels a little loose towards the top end too but I'm just happy I was able to get one (especially since the defects were minor -- no spine slash or dents)

After all that has been happening, I'm sure the online orders will get messed up as well. I'm going to hold on to my online orders and still go in on release day. Just in the rare chance they start cancelling online orders for lack of stock.
