Force Friday is tomorrow lets take a stroll down memory lane with this video from the last time a new Star Wars Trilogy was about to kick off circa 1999.

Wonder if the couple at the start and finish broke up after he forced her to watch Phantom Menace?

BTW there were only two good pieces of Phantom Menace merch: the N64 Podracer game, and the Phantom Menace monopoly.

I did have the Phantom Menace Monopoly until a week ago, but I've just had a clearout of mass-produced Star Wars crap from 20 years ago and made a few quid on ebay. Got some decent money for a few Master Replicas scaled lightsabers (which I forgot I had) though.

My wife keeps telling me I need to have a few of those sales. I keep saying "OK", but it never seems to manifest itself!

I actually went to Toys R Us at midnight when the Episode I figures came out, and I just picked up a single Darth Maul figure. LOL

I don't have any plans to collect the new figures (I have too much other stuff that I collect already).

Hold onto them, they'll be worth more

I had a Monopoly set, EPIII I think I got for Christmas one year. Instead of putting it with my Star Wars merchandise I left it with all the other board games. Long story short my ex would have that now.

I've recenctly moved and haven't unpacked yet but I have huge boxes full of Stars Wars figures. Originals still in blister packets. No I'm not telling you where I live

I don't if you guys are into this or not. But even more recent Star Wars merchandise should go up in value if unopened you'd imagine. Won't everything from now on have a Disney logo? I'm not clear on this myself.

EDIT: I know not much in my lifetime but I plan on passing everything down to my children.

I would think so regarding the logo. Disney and LucasFilm.

I think some of these will sell out and probably be worth something, but I doubt everything will.

Yeah I have a lot of stuff from when Star Wars first began which I know is worth a little. I never opened any of it. I'm passing it down to my children. But won't the stuff without Disney be worth more? Or is it a good idea to get my hands on some of this early Disney stuff as well? Some of you collect.

EDIT: Its just that I wasn't planning on buying any more as I've got so much I could open another Skywalker Ranch LOL

Huh... In this lighting, the silver outlines almost give off the resemblance to Palpatine's wrinkles. So, his helmet looks to be a cross between Darth Vader and Palpatine.

Wow...I think you may be on to something there...design-wise.

Maybe! I only really noticed it due to the lighting and the paint job making the raised grooves a tad thicker than the actual helmet. Which reminded me of Palpatine's new make-up in RotS and then how it aged in RotJ. Also, the cheekbone area's paint job causes it to appear as a whole design, while pictures of the displayed costume show it having different textures and coloring from the brow/forehead. So, while it may not be as a apparent in the movie — the toy possible gave away an inspirational detail.

We also haven't seen any other Knights of Ren yet either. So, if we were to go by the concept art for them, Kylo Ren may have modified his helmet. Furthering his possible obsession with Darth Vader and his relationship with Palpatine.

Also, and this is just more of a observation, Darth Vader's face has always looked like a skull to me (I'm sure others have seen it too); Kylo Ren's almost looks like how muscle/skin would appear if grown over Vader's. Almost.

Not just you, it's a deliberate design element.

Ok, good. Thought so! X) I mean, I think it was pretty obvious when they had Grievous and Vader side by side on some promotional banners during RotS. Y'know, since they both look like skulls. But that's also when they were trying to make Grievous out to be the main baddie/next Vader of RotS. Don't get me wrong, though, I really like General Grievous. He's super cool. But as far as Vader goes, his whole original appearance definitely had a Grim Reaper vibe. Especially before we knew anything about him.

I still find the whole reveal in RotJ (and glimpse in TESB) to be one of the best moments. While his appearance is a bit underwhelming underneath, it made the prequel trilogy that much more exciting at the time for me to see how that happened to him. Also up till last year, I thought he said to look 'Tell your sister I've arrived.' Instead of 'Tell your sister you were right.' But I also took it as he arrived to the good side again. Still not sure how he healed that much within 30 some years after Mustafar.

Speaking of which, I wonder how Kylo Ren's helmet and mask work? Is it in sections or is it just one big thing? Wait... Are we getting Halloween costumes for The Force Awakens? If so, that might give the answer for a deluxe Kylo Ren costume.
