No remaster and the lack of Special Features is what kills me on buying HA2 again

I do not care for special features since I never watch them but Home Alone 2 not having a remaster is a shame

Now, really difficult decision..
I have sworn not to double dip on Blurays (unless a film is part of a box and I can't do otherwise).
The 2 first Home Alones are films I watch every Christmas time! I LOVE them!!

I wonder if I should buy the remaster now...
Looking forward to seeing screenshot comparisons.

The 2nd film will be the exact same disc with the first release?

I'm pass for the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" and I prefer to single Blu-ray but I don't know if any new extra or just the same extra from Family Fun Edition? I love first 2 Home Alone movie.

The paint can doesn't work. It's not representative of the movie and from an aesthetics stand point, it just looks bad and clunky. It comes off as looking like one of those cheap popcorn tins you could pick up for five dollars come Christmas time.

The green color scheme for the 25th edition isn't working for me, either. It's nice that they're 'celebrating' the 25th anniversary of this film, though. I just don't find this particular edition enticing and I don't see a reason to re-buy.

I hope that the Blu-ray image quality is much better than the trailer shows, because there the image is too dark.

Any reason why the pre-orders for this collection and the single releases are not available on Amazon?

Many of the Fox preorder are listed as "currently unavailable" (Poltergeist, Spy). Most likely a money dispute. Once the item is released though, an order can be placed.

I got my new Blu Ray with the 4k remaster yesterday! Its the german disc. The master will of course be the same in the us.
The old Blu Ray was ok but a little to bright and light dnr was applied.
The new 4k remaster looks stellar and beautiful.
Its darker but it seems more faithful to the source.

I did a comparison between old and new Blu Ray:
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/143371

Looks more organic...more filmlike.
Love it!
