Thanks.
Dark Was The Night, Exeter, were the two exclusives, then stuff like Army of Frankensteins, Backcountry, The Blood Lands, The Curse of Downer's Grove, and Lost After Dark....basically direct-to-video D grade stuff (unless there's a gem in there somewhere).

No worries, I too, was excited about his post and thought the same thing. Went out and checked myself. Nope. No catalog steelbooks of more well-known horror films.

This is what I get for questioning whether or not I'd rewatch a film again. Can't find the steelbook for a "reasonable" price anywhere now. I had a copy of this steelbook to purchase and I hesitated.

Just...ugh.

Been off the site for a weekend goto store and realized they sold out on day one and had way too many pre-orders. Officially switching to shipping now.

BB also needs to move away from 19-year-old employees

but they cheaper, hipper and don't know better.... *sarcasm*

It wouldn't kill them to have some older employees with knowledge, wisdom, pride....and above all....a sense of customer service to impart on the young ones.

anywho.... the wife and I opened our steelbook tonight, and will be watching the movie for the first time tonight. Yup, blind buy....I'm a Mad Max fan, but real life stuff popped up so we never saw it in theaters!

I went to the other best buy in my town and put myself on a list to get the steelbook in the coming shipment.

The manager said they would call me when the next shipment comes, is that true? Do you know when the next shipment is?

Also if you get a refund, did the y charge you for the digital code?

In lieu of the regular Blu combo and the $10 GC they were offering as amends, I got my store to give me the 3D edition instead.

I'll be annoyed if this goes back in stock in stores, but I'm happy with getting the 3D edition for $20.

My dream is to one day own a steelbook that becomes extremely rare and increases in value dramatically like 2001: A Space Odyssey.

...fingers crossed that this could the one!

If the best steels are made in Asia does that mean steels are very popular in Asia with lots of collector's there?

The only ones you really need to do a GB for are the Blufan ones. And thank goodness our GB seller here is awesome.
Nova, Plain, and Kimchi's you can buy direct from their sites. Granted the numbers are limited but you still don't have to do GB's for those. Again most members here support both buying US steelbooks and importing. It is just that US ones aren't the greatest of quality and have started to get cheaper and cheaper when they first came out here. I mean Mad Max for example has issues closing. That really doesn't help the image of US steelbooks.

Also as far as price? The price is only high for this SB mainly because of the low print run. If there would have been as many as say the FF steelbooks then it wouldn't be fetching the high price. Not only that but again, resellers snatched up many as well. Again another reason why I dislike BB not stopping people from buying one a per customer. At least make it harder for the scalpers.
Your 2 paragraphs of opinions does not include currency valuations from an economy point of view. The dollar is worth less or more in some countries.
For example the same blu-ray steelbook in the UK is at least twice as much that in the US. Quality is not the only factor. The state of the economy is a major factor. And if the US Dollar was valued more than Asia than it would
cheaper but its not. Why would I pay more for the same movie? That Ultra HD Blu-ray is just around the corner. Which leaves the steelbooks in your house useless. Well technology makes them useless just like the Dvds I have
in the box next to me.

You have some faulty thinking. Those DVDs and Blu Rays will work just fine in the new Ultra HD Blu Ray players. They will be up converted just like the current Blu Ray players up convert DVDs. Any and all compact discs will play on a 1080p TV as well as an Ultra HD TV as long as you have the correct player and connecting cables feeding the TV.

FWIIW, laser discs and VHS/BetaMax tapes will work just fine as well with either a 1080p TV or an Ultra HD TV as long as you have the correct player and connecting cables. Very seldom does something become so obsolete that you can't use/play it with the right adapters, connecting cables, and players.

since they changed the price of the Steelbook on the Best Buy website from $19.99 to $29.99 doesn't that mean that it'll come back in stock soon?...otherwise why bother changing the price if it's discontinued?

The picture looks a lot better on the bluray. I'd recommend watching that over the streaming version.

Yeah I'm sure it does. A buddy of mine is sending me the 3D version so I'm going to wait and watch that.

Still not 5/5 though. Watched the 2D again at a friend's place, and there's a fair bit of banding in the night scenes.
