since one Uk label bothering my rights owner to get a FREE ACCESS to HD masters I created, and that label sells crates to USA/Canada. Only way to fight back is do what they do....ship some overseas?

Yes, but the two titles he says he'll hold for me say "Sold Out" on the cartel. Clarification is needed to see if they will be placed on the cartel by the 2nd which will make it easy. If it's another method he is going to use, then I'd like to know how to go about sending payment & such, if I can.

I *think* you can pay a Paypal invoice with a card and no PP account.

Although I could just buy "Rituals" on Amazon.com for 50 bucks with no troubles

This is the part of the Code Red/Cartel that I see people getting frustrated with. You want to give your money to them, but it's hard to do without an accurate description of how many copies of a film are left so you can prioritize. I know about typing in 1000 during checkout to see how many are left. I'm talking about how something is "Sold Out" on the cartel, but not really because there are still some in the warehouse somewhere. It would be cool to know how many copies were made such as 1200, then have a counter on the titles in the cartel. Then he could note something like "will be able to send "X" title out in two weeks, need to get more from the warehouse". THEN when a title says "sold Out", you know that the 1200 pressed are all gone. Just thinking out loud so to speak.

It's very rare that customers are informed of the quantity remaining in stock of items that buy. It'd be logistically complicated for any business to do that. Bummer that... you wouldn't believe the guesswork that went into the deducing inventory last time I went to buy eggs at the store...

I pressed 1,000 and it was in ever store. took many years to sell out. this is a title most label can sell 1,000 easy, but it took me 3 yrs.

few people wanted me to re-press it. so I repressed 500 more which is the minimum amount on a dvd pressing plant. I am stuck with 372 dvds.

Bill, does any international labels own the rights to release the HD master of Just Before Dawn?

Also, any chance of Ghostkeeper on Blu Ray?

JBD... UK Odeon release a unauthorized release of the copyrighted movie using a 16mm print. No overseas label made any good offer to the rights owner as of yet. (that I know of)

Joel, I can ship overseas if you ask me.

ghostkeeper...maybe Blu. but I am sure certain uk label will be bees on a honey when I make a HD master. wait and you don't chip in for a HD master. wait for "rich" american to make one using his credit card.

I would like to see Ghostkeeper on Blu-ray too. How are these international labels getting the HD master for free after you've paid for it? Are they simply ripping it from your release or is the rights holder giving them the contents for free?

they see CODE RED SPEND TONS OF MONEY MAKING A NEW MASTER

they CONTACT THE RIGHTS OWNER AND OFFER A CHEAP DEAL

they get a clone of my master AND DIDN'T HAVE CHIP-IN TO MAKE THE NEW MASTER.

they will ship worldwide the ALL REGION product.

AMEOBA RECORDS carry 10 Blu and Diabolik carry 30. more imports around the world with the NEW MASTER CODE RED CREATED.

CODE RED sees cult followers say UK LABEL IS BETTER MASTER. even when they use THE SAME DAM MASTER.

CODE RED eats Banquet TV DINNER

Other label eats a fancy UK meal.

I NEVER GET A DIME IN THE PAST MAKING NEW MASTERS that overseas label use.

There has to be a way to end this madness. Does this happen only to Code Red? (stealing HD masters?).

If I understood your post correctly, then I'd hold the rights holder accountable. If you've paid for a new HD master can't you include some kind of clause in the contract that this version is exclusive to CR so long as you have the US rights and/or any third party would have to split the cost of the new master?

They shouldn't get it for free and the rights owner shouldn't be undercutting your sales.

I'm pretty sure any/all HD masters/transfers created by licensees need to be handed over to the license holders. I don't think it's especially uncommon in this business. I don't know that it's fair to say it's an issue with the oversea labels, just a shitty reality of the whole way this stuff is set up.

I don't know the ins and outs of the business, but that's tough. I can understand the hesitancy.

But I would absolutely love to see Ghost Keeper and Curse of the Blue Lights on Blu. I hope we see an upgrade on these titles!

Just put my order in yesterday at Screen Archives for Trick or Treats, Sweet Sixteen, The Redeemer, and Neon Maniacs. Will be making an order for some of the other titles after I get paid next time.

Maybe seek a solution similar to Twilight Time in that you have exclusivity for a set period of time otherwise damages will be awarded .
