It's gotten better though now that some companies offer IPTV apps through various third-party hardware (TVs, Blu-ray players, Roku, tablets, etc.) For example, TWC has a Roku app that allows you to stream live TV. In the past few years, it has allowed more OnDemand content although it's still pretty limited, when compared to Netflix, and when OnDemand content is available it is usually limited to the last four episodes of a television program. |

The funny thing is that it wasn't until 2003 when I heard of Comcast. I was a member of the now defunct Zelda Forums that went online that year, and people from the western states were complaining about Comcast. |

This is as good a defense as any why we need physical media.

I hate digital with a passion! The quality is inferior and there is just something about being able to pick a movie up and look at it. Also when I am skimming through my movies I may come across a movie that I had forgot about and get in the mood to watch it.
I think what turns people off to Blu-ray from my experience is the limited number releases and how fast some movies go OOP. |

I am mostly digital now and find that I now watch more of my collection now that it is more convenient to do so. Sometimes I will have a movie playing in the background while I am doing other things. Something I didn't do with physical media. It is also very convenient to just launch a movie and skip right to some of your favorite scenes. I have some blu rays left but it would not upset me if digital becomes more mainstream. The minuses are a degradation of quality but I'm really okay with it. Vudu streaming is pretty good and I do anticipate that streaming technology is going to improve over time.

It's the advancement of technology. It has nothing to do with it being hard. It's just that digital is convenient. Is it hard to to get up and change channels on a TV dial? So get rid of your remote and change channels manually. Is it hard to light candles in your house instead of switching lights on? Perhaps you should go outside and cook your food over an open flame instead of the convenience of using home stoves. I am not a lazy person by any means if that is what your suggesting. I work 40 hours a week and work out at my local gym two hours a day. I just can never understand this argument. If you love your physical media, by all means that is your business. I prefer the convenience of streaming and not having the clutter of plastic discs around my house. I avoid collecting things because it is a giant pain in the ass. It causes unneeded stress. Digital is saving me all kinds of money as I purchase from people selling on forums, or I cash in the code on blu rays and then sell the blu ray on Ebay. I have spent foolishly over the years on discs and would rather spend my money on experiences rather than things.

Studios sure make it much more hassle than it needs to be. The irony of only legitimate paying customers having to watch anti-piracy warnings still seems to be eluding them.

I don't want it to be a thing I own. The death of decent rental places has been the worst part of this transition from physical media for me.

![]() I'd rather pay $30 for a Blu-ray Disc that I can hold in my hand, than $20 for the iTunes version of the same movie. I can find Blu-ray titles on Amazon for around $5 that cost $15 on iTunes. *$15 seems to be the average minimum (yes, I know $10 movie exist). Most movies, especially those by Disney, tend to be closer to $20. ![]() |

All these people saying how "convenient" digital is becoming, and how its less expensive than physical media makes me laugh. What about when there is an internet outage or the speed is slow so your movie keeps rebuffing! And to pay $14.99-$19.99 to not own the movie, but own the "right to access" the movie is a joke. what happens to the money you paid for the movie you "own" when the streaming service no longer has the rights to that film..you loose it, but they keep your money, yeah no thanks
