Default Sony Media Manager for PSP now free to download

UK: Media Manager 2.5 free on PLAYSTATION Store (PC)

JP: http://www.jp.playstation.com/store/...ger/index.html

Very speedy download for me, maxed my connection.

Installation is in Japanese but after that all English as far as I can tell.

It backs up and synchronises your PSP memory stick contents, lets you easily transfer browser favourites, RSS feeds (might be Internet Explorer only).. that sort of thing.

Thanks, I'll have to get him to set it up so we can play around with it. Im a Generation late on most of this stuff. There is so much on the PS3 that im sure would be great, I just dont quite understand what the stuff is.

The PSP and PS3 are two very powerful and versatile pieces of electronics in my opinion. The only problem (in my opinion) is Sony still does not know how to educate the non-enthusiast on all of the features available and how to use all of the features. It is unfortunate really.

Giving this software away free is a good step... although if you have to read on a message board or website that it is available.... well you see my point.

It should come packed in the box.

I just got around to installing this last night.

it's very nice program much better than the Datel Media Manager Max

The only issue is it took along time to pre-fetch my 30+Gigs of music..lol

Hooray! I was just digging through posts to see if it was needed and now see it is free.

Do you need this software to transfer photos for the PSP to view, or can you just use any memory stick reader, and then plug the stick into the PSP?

You can use a Memory Stick reader if you like or just a USB cable between your computer and the PSP turned onto 'USB Connection' mode.

No extra software is necessary but can help if you're not comfortable digging around strangely named folders. It also automatically backs things up if you're worried about that sort of thing.

Cool. I am pretty comfortable with messing up stuff by putting things in the wrong folders, so no worries there then. For free, I may give it a whirl anyway.

You'll need a UK or Euro PSN account to sign-in.

Does this software convert video files to a format that the PSP will recognize?
