Wasn't aware this was coming back out. I missed it the first time around. I just entered a contest to win a copy, but if I lose hopefully I'll be able to just order one myself.

Was kind of disappointed by the original book Crystal Lake Memories, but this documentary looked great, and epic!

Just got the re-release today. It's only the two blu-rays as opposed to the 2 blu-rays and 2 DVDs, however, for this release, the blu-ray discs have disc art on them, unlike the original release, which was just red discs.

Is it worth getting the enhanced e-book of Crystal Lake Memories if I already have the bluray with bonus disc that was released? Trying to decide if the book is going to add a lot more than the film.

Boy Susan Jennifer Sullivan's career did not exactly take off after part 7.

...she just flat out disappeared from acting.

His Name Was Jason - disjointed, unfocused, annoying editing, all around poor.

Crystal Lake Memories is 100% excellent.

From my understanding His Name Was Jason was overlooked by the studio so the makers had to comprise in a few places. In Crystal Lake Memories they get more into the good and the bad of each production.

She had a couple of sit-com credits and sadly passed away.

Watched some of this on youtube and it's clear that some of the interviews have been recycled from His Name Was Jason.

Jensen Daggett's for instance.

They did reuse some of the His Name Was Jason interviews. They were just going to say the same things again, anyway. His Name Was Jason was done like one of those Remember The 80's (or whatever) shows where people just comment on random things, while Crystal Lake Memories takes you through the whole story movie by movie.

From what I recall, most of the interviews are original content. This is really a great documentary and an exhaustive one too. I felt that every base was covered and I have no more lingering questions about the series. I wish all film franchises could get this much love.

Agreed. After this and 'Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy', I'd say the ball is in 'Halloween's court now. 25 Years Of Terror was good for its time, but it's time for an extensive documentary by these same guys. One that also includes the Zombie pictures.

Since Daniel Farrands worked on His Name Was Jason and Never Sleep Again, it only makes sense for him to come full circle and make a similar documentary for Halloween. I know awhile back it was announced that a comprehensive book on the Halloween franchise was in the works, but then about a year ago, I think, they announced it had to be postponed indefinitely due to reasons they didn't say.

I'm sure some, like Carpenter probably, are tired of talking about Halloween, but I would love to see one epic, blow-out documentary on the franchise.

The main reason this documentary was better than His Name was Jason (aside from the fact His Name was Jason never got Blu Ray treatment) is that Crystal Lake Memories is broken up into about half hour single documentaries about each film. So if at any time you just wanna sit back and watch the story of any single film you can just go right to it. I do find myself often looking back on the earlier films as opposed to the later ones although the documentary as a whole is really, really good.
