The Anthology box set doesn't include the 3D version.

The one a friend of mine bought did have the 3D version. A packaging error perhaps?

What country is your friend from? Maybe its just the US that has no 3D in the boxset.

You're probably just mistaken. There's a 5th disc but it's a DVD of a documentary on the making of the original film.

Been a while since I've posted on Bluray.com, but Fury Road inspired me to come by and say this is far and away one of my favorite movies ever. It's so easy to pop in and watch, and everything from the performances, vehicles, action, drama, and little bits of comedy thrown in scream perfection and filmmaking on a level not many (if any) other directors will ever achieve. Throw in all of that with one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, and I'd rate this in my personal top 5 favorite movies. Watched it for the fourth time last night, and I can easily see myself watching it again in the next couple weeks.

I completely agree - Furiosa is probably my favourite film character ever (there's no 'damsel in distress' or romance BS), and this is my 3rd favourite film after The Dark Knight and the Lord of the Rings. The sublime action in this makes other big blockbusters like Age of Ultron and Jurassic World seem fake and nasty, and while there may not seem to be a lot of storyline on the surface, the characters show more depth through their actions and facial expressions than is shown through dialogue in other films.

I still haven't watched the original trilogy yet, and plan on doing so as soon as possible when I get the Anthology in a couple of weeks. I think I'll always regret seeing Fury Road just the once at the cinema.

I knew I would probably never see anything like it again, so I made sure to go see it enough times that I would never accidentally break that record again! (Six times, 3 of them in 3D) The darn thing never came to an Imax theater in this STATE, unfortunately, but I sure saw it over and over.

I have a pretty small TV (46"), but with my surround system cranked it really didn't lose THAT much from the theater, I still loved it and would still rate it my favorite action flick ever. I get so many chills during the second major action scene where they're shooting the bikers out of the air and Joe is on their tail, something about the combination of the music and the INSANE action there is really stirring! I can't say I've ever had that emotion from another action scene before. It's magical, or something. :P

That really long shot where Nux can suddenly vaguely see the War Rig off in the distance in the sandstorm is my single favorite effects shot of all time. That whole thing looks like a late 19th or early 20th century vision of the apocalypse, it's a great use of CGI in the most artistic way possible.

Still, I expected it to be the other way around.
Cost? Studios still treat 3D as premium instead of an add-on option.

Does anyone have a screenshot of that shot?

Now excuse for not reading the entire thread. The answer for my question might be answered many times. Ive just seen the movie on blu-ray for the first time and noticed straight away that movement look really really jerky. It looked like it was playing in fast forward slightly. The main scene where it was really obvious is after the storm chase where Max meets the women. Is this really intentional or is my disc or player defective ??
It looked really odd and unnatural and it stressed me out. And this was on quite a few scenes. But other scenes looked perfectly natural and smooth. The running time was correct and and my player wasn't speeding thing up and the sound was very normal.
But if it was intentional i ask my self why? because it really looks like something is really off.
Thanks in advance for helping me out.

I had no idea that Lenny Kravitz had such a hot daughter.

...Zoe Kravitz is one of the most beautiful women in the world imo.

This is an intentional effect used by Miller. The reviewer on this site notes it at the end of his review of the film and says he also doesn't like it. I don't mind it, but I'm glad its restricted to a couple scenes. It works well at the beginning to enhance the trippiness of Max's attempted escape, but I wish it wasn't used in that scene you mention.

Thanks for your answer ! I am glad my disc is okay but i am slighty annoyed by the effect, but i am sure i will look past it on next viewings. I later realized he did the same on The Road Warrior but just on very few scenes. He way overdid it in Fury Road.
The fight sequence with Charlize just just really off. The rest didnt bother me to much.

It's interesting how many people don't like the sped up footage in the fight scene between Furiosa and Max after the sandstorm. That never bothered me and I didn't find it to be too fast or anything. The only time I found the sped up footage to be overdone is in parts of the chase scene that leads up to the sandstorm. To be specific, pretty much all of what I'm pointing out here is found in this video below:

It gets particularly overdone toward the end of that clip, in my opinion. Still love the flick, though.

Speed ramping is something employed throughout the Mad Max franchise.

Nope, but that's close to it. I'll take some in a little bit (have to jump through some hoops to get decent blu-ray screenshots unfortunately).

I didn't even notice it in this movie as I was so engrossed that I guess it just worked to make my brain think THIS MOVIE IS SO FAST AND AWESOME IT'S FASTER THAN REAL LIFE, but I guess it bugged a lot of people, I've seen those "sped up footage" complaints in various message boards. I think in the old movies it was primarily used to make the road look like it was moving really fast when it had actually been filmed at like 20 mph though, right? It was not used in that manner here IIRC, it was more of a Gladiator-style (as in, there's some sped-up footage thrown into some of the combat scenes in Gladiator) thing where it makes the action seem more frenetic.
