The sequels of Aladdin are now avaliable of Itunes and Amazon store before his blu-ray release in 2 Movie COllection (The 2 Movie collection has been released in Australia in 11 november in blu-ray).

Has the picture of the Best Buy exclusive lenticular slip been updated? I'm going with that version regardless, but I find it hard to believe that's actually the final artwork. It seemed so definitively a placeholder but who knows.

Aladdin and the King of Theives and Return of Jafar popped up in the iTunes US store this morning in 1080p. Bodes well for a release soon.

Aladdin is now available on Vudu and iTunes this morning. The aspect ratio is now 1.66:1 on this transfer, which appears to be different from the 1.85:1 version on the UK disc. There is definately more image overall. I would assume this to be the same transfer from the new blu-Ray. Return of Jafar and King of Thieves are both 1.78:1 and have severe cropping. Both are a little wobbly and grainy but are definately sourced from film and are most definately not upscaled.

Vudu is also describing Return of Jafar as an exclusive (unavailable on disc) but not King of Thieves. (Probably a mistake.) They also have a 2-movie collection version of Return and King which appears to be two for the price of one.

I agree. I loved (and continue to love) Aladdin so much that I bought into the sequel idea, and ditched it immediately after seeing the first one. The magic carpet lost all of it's magic -- it became a Saturday morning cartoon, in a bad way. So Aladdin is the complete story for me.

What did they do about the scene where Aladdin told Rajah, "Good kitty. Take off and go!"? The Platinum DVD muted the dialogue.
