Man, that's really all that matters.

Without have a dedicated theater room, we all do what we can, with what we have to work with. I've been criticized before for certain things, and some things I have taken into account, and made changes, others I take with a grain of salt. I'm the one listening / watching my gear, not someone on the forum, so therefore.....

Enjoy your gear, take advice when it's something you can change, or want to change, and live with, and let the rest go.

I said great decor and gear.

All I asked is why the couch was up against the wall. It is 1.5' off the wall(can you tell that in the picture?).

His display is 65". I guess this room is around 12x15.

What lies to the right(as sitting on it) to the side couch? Does it have room to slide down?

The main benefit to "correctly placing your seating"...(other than, of course, sound) is people can exit and enter BEHIND the seating...you know...bathroom, popcorn...beer.

It isn't condescending to bring up ITU after others lambast me.

Edit:

If I "really" want to nitpick/suggest...

Front left speaker...

Move it forward of the Matrix poster and 1/2 the distance closer to the wall(cabinet interaction with the sub will be minimized as well).

Front right...

Swap it with the BD/DVD rack and forward of it(just noticed the rack has more room to slide over)...forward enough to walk behind the speaker(just like the other side). That gets you closer to an equidistant arc of the three speakers.

We all can't have a perfectly designed and constructed room for our own HT. We do with what we have and can manage. Yungheat, you have a fine example of a home theater which looks fantastic and I'm sure sounds it as well. Haters got to hate. We gotcha back.

Yes. Anytime you move speakers, furniture or even wall pictures, banners and so on you should rerun the calibration program.

The program will run at 75dB so you don't have to change the volume. Before tweaking any settings, after running YPAO, put a movie in that you say has hard to hear dialogue and see if it is better.

BTW which movie were you talking about earlier that had low dialogue?

Been awhile since I have seen that movie. I have it on DVD. But I do remember it being a loud movie.

keep in mind that sometimes, that's how the movie audio was mixed. many times they make movies so that the special audio effects and music are mixed hot and tends to drown out the dialogue. so, it's not in many cases your system, it's the audio engineers who mixed and mastered the disc.
