There are now 2 editions of Hardware in the UK. The Optimum is superior to the Three Wolves edition. 3Wolves only has Dolby Digital Lossy.

Also, 3 Wolves House on Haunted Hill has Lossy audio even though the package lists HD

I'm relatively certain that's the correct version of The Aviator.

So, there's no reason to update Hardware or House on Haunted Hill as the listings have the superior options.

Judging from the specs, the IT version of The Leopard seems to be the better choice in terms of PQ and AQ.

The main problem is that there are only two English friendly uncropped versions on BD: The IT and AU discs.

Where are the caps of the AU release?

The FR release looks like the winner to me over on caps-a-holic. It also maintains the negative AR of 2.55:1.

The negative AR is 2.55:1.

The AR of 2.55:1 gives you a lot more information either side. I personally prefer it.

I cannot believe the US Criterion release got 5 stars for PQ. Insane.

Ahh, sh*t, the FR release has no English subs, thus the favour for the AU release, as it seems that features the same transfer as the FR release.

But the negative AR of something shot in Technirama (8-perf horizontal 35mm with a 1.5x anamorphic squeeze) is roughly 2.25 with no CinemaScope-style offset for the soundtrack area - and yet the 2.55 version does indeed show more at the left than what the other versions do. How strange.
