Holy cow. I had forgotten all about that. You are correct. She's the "I've Told Every Little Star" girl.

Melissa George for the win!

I've been teetering on the ledge about buying Mulholland Drive, but I'd like to revisit the movie, and this is probably the final push.

Not a Criterion movie, but Triangle is a lot of fun.

Agreed. Triangle is a good little film.

I keep hoping that Scream Factory or some other such label will release Turistas, but it hasn't happened yet. Melissa George was great in that flick.

What? never noticed it was that same actress, for some reason I thought just on age alone it couldn't be possible, not sure why I kept forgetting Mulholland Dr. is not that old.

Agreed on Triangle, worth a watch.

Can someone please refresh my memory ?

Are pre orders included in Criterion Flash sales ? I've only participated twice. Once in 2013, again 2014.

I'd like to get Downhill Racer in October's sale.

Only in stock items. Sometimes a release due out in a few days after the sale will be included if they already have it, but that's as close as it gets to pre-orders being included.

Crap. Well, I may be saving that $10. coupon until February then. Thanks.

Hi Namuhana,

The plan was to have it on Monday, but then Mulholland Drive and Kwaidan came in. The guys have been asking for these releases for quite some time now and they are rather long films with plenty of bonus content.

We will do Room with a View either on Thursday or Friday night. (I already have some UK reviews in progress as well). I hope this works

Pro-B

p.s.

KCota15: I already replied to your question in the main thread I don't have the market version yet, but as soon as it arrives I will post the packaging photos here/the main thread and in the review for you and the rest of the members to see what Criterion have done with this release.

I thought at first the movie is quite weird, but after giving it another chance I definitely recommend it, it is pretty funny and while I am not an avid fan of The Beatles I do find the soundtrack excellent, it also helps that the Sound quality is top notch on the release, and it comes with lots of extras and a nice digipak.

Bottom line, do it.

Is there logic to the screencaps he posts? He seems to post the most boring and uninteresting shots in most films, to choose as representations of the disc's qualities.

I disagree, I have often copied shots from his site (and from blu-ray.com) to use as wallpapers.

That's very rare for him. Countless films may have a good shot or two, but most shots aren't interesting ones.

I had an R1 of Austin Powers in some funny edition that prevented pause or rewind/FF! It was supposed to "enhance" the experience. Now I love the AP movies but they're hardly deep

I remember a CBS release of Mahler's fourth from Lorin Maazel back in the 80s that had only one track for the whole symphony, but they used those little known index points for the movements. Nice idea but wasted for a single-work disk. Would be quite nice for say a disk that had two multi-movement works. But how many players (or rippers like iTunes) can even show index points? Like the CD-text facility that almost no one uses, a bit of a wasted opportunity by the industry.

I disagree. Tooze has no eye at all for what makes a well composed or interesting picture in and of itself. Worse, he has no eye for capturing pictures that represent the essence or ideas a particular film contains... you know, what filmmaking is basically about.

I disagree. The stills he picks are excellent.

Happy Birthday to the beautiful and talented Angie Dickinson, who turns 84 today.

If you like her in The Killers (1964) and Dressed to Kill, then you'll also enjoy China Gate, Rio Bravo, Point Blank, and Death Hunt (1981).
