The movie looks interesting. Probably will watch the movie first before deciding whether to buy the bluray.

There was already a documentary on this subject. 9/11 sensitivity notwithstanding, not sure I'd want to see another feature-length film about a bored yuppie endangering not only his own life for no reason but the lives of others, regardless of how awesome the special effects are.

I saw the trailer in 3D in December before Five Armies. It was by far the most impressive thing I saw in 3D that night.

In the documentary called Man on Wire, I disliked the guy so much, I just wanted him to fall off his rope. That said, a "bored yuppie" he was most definitely not. Apart from that the the term yuppie came into being a decade later, it describes a completely a different personality type.

I heard the film is marginal, but the walk scene is phenomenal. I'm planning on getting this as a 3D showcase for home. This would be great to pop in and see if I can make people puke.

I actually saw this last night, and was totally blown away. I honestly think it was the best film I've seen in years. And I did see Man On Wire, which was very good...but I don't know, I just really connected with this. The score is fabulous, the effects were insanely good, and honestly, I thought Joseph Gordon Levitt did Oscar-worthy work. His accent was just flawless (to the point that it made Ben Kingsley's sound downright bad standing next to him). And I truly loved the character he created - far more than the *actual* Petit in Man On Wire, whom I found a bit grating.

It was so much fun to watch from beginning to end. I can't remember the last time I left a theater thinking "wow, that was a LOT of fun to watch", as opposed to, say..."that was good" or "it was well-made" (which kind of sums up how I felt about The Martian - it was really good, but...I don't know, I'm just not DYING to revisit it or tell people they need to go see it, you know?). It was a movie I can see myself re-watching and re-enjoying again and again. It almost felt to me like a throwback to 80's and 90's films in that regard. It didn't feel modern. It had a charm. Even the direct narration which is interspersed throughout the film served a (really emotionally satisfying) purpose in the end, and felt old-school. I mean, when was the last time you saw a movie that began with a character talking to the camera saying "hi" to the audience? Some might find this approach really corny, but I was really disarmed by it.

In the end, I felt like it was a huge love letter - not to the man who DID the walk, but to what the walk MEANT to that city, to those buildings, in that time and that place...a romance to a sense of innocence that there once was and never will be again. I loved it.

If anyone has 9/11 sensitivity watching a documentary about something that happened decades ago, then they really need to seek professional help.

I'm glad I saw this film in IMAX, The 3D was pretty amazing. I honestly have no desire to own this on Blu-ray though. A decent film but not worth a rewatch.

I went today to see it for a second time. It's my favorite movie of 2015, after Cinderella. Knewing Robert Zemeckis would be involved with the project, I did expect a highly visual film, with a simple, but exciting story. It surpassed my expectations in every way. This is not just a film, it's a veritable experience. I'm only sad I did not get a chance to see it in IMAX theatres.

This is one I'm sure I'll be getting on Blu-ray, in 3D, as it is meant to be seen.

Yes. I missed the IMAX because it left so quickly. Even so, in just cineplex 3D it was an experience.

It's now on my all-time favorites list. I will buy it on 3D BluRay.

After watching this at the IMAX theater, I just can't imagine revisiting this on any home theater system will come close to the same impact. But I'll probably grab it regardless.

Bonus materials on the 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD include the featurette "Pillars of Support," which spotlights Petit's partners in crime, portrayed in the film by Kingsley, Dale and Le Bon. The 3D Blu-ray and the Blu-ray are exclusively loaded with additional bonus materials, including deleted scenes and two behind-the-scenes featurettes: "First Steps," where viewers can witness Gordon-Levitt’s first steps on the wire during pre-production, and "The Amazing Walk," a three-part series that breaks down "the walk." In addition, the featurette touches on the epic recreation of the Twin Towers and their role as a character in the film.

It wasn't great, only okay and a one watcher for sure. I almost always buy movies I see in theater, I won't be buying this.

Is there anywhere having pre-order deals on this? I haven't seen or heard much for a movie coming out in a couple of weeks.
