I can do the same time frame as last night, unless the wife falls asleep early, which happens, usually closer to midnight. Stupid fusion rifle. Don't know what to do with that. I need to get a better primary weapon, for sure.

I really like the Bolean Gemini, which is a quest reward. Jade Rabbit is also excellent if you can chain body/crit shots to keep your magazine full and prevent reloads.

Zhalo Supercell has been amazing for mob control in the raid and regular PvE.

Someone also suggested the Scout from Dead Orbit, which I don't have enough marks to buy right now. I started out last night using a random blue autorifle, which is my only 290+ primary as we speak. I have 1000 yard stare at 298, an arc fusion from a quest reward at 300 and an arc shotgun at 296. I got some void fusion rifle last night that's 308. For a heavy I've been using a random 297 machine gun, instead of the Truth that I also bought, because I end up using the Hawkmoon that I bought from the Xur as primary. Even though it's only 280, it's the best damage I can deal with a primary weapon, and once I switched to it, I became much more effective. This reflects what I've been saying about light level. The weapon in your hand should be the one you can kill enemies with the most efficiently, irrespective of its light rating.

My biggest problem is that I've only been playing a week after 3/4 of a year away, and I just forget about stuff like changing my subclass customization for better armor protection, or agility or whatever, forget about generating orbs, forget about switching weapons for enemies that are arc shielded or solar shielded, etc. I used to feel like I could play with anyone, but right now, I only want to play with people who aren't going to be mean to me, and then I feel bad about being a screwup.

The scout rifle you are talking about is the Hung Jury. I picked it up the other day (due to forum comments) and really like it. It seems to auto lock onto the heads of enemies really well. It really reminds me of the VOC without auto fire. If I can ever acquire more primary items over 290 that and the Ace of Spades will be infused for a higher level

What's Jade Rabbit?

The DO scout rifle is an excellent choice, too. I like the Boolean because it gives you up to a 3X armor buff when you land non-critical shots, and it's a guaranteed reward from a questline. The Rabbit is another exotic scout, and i got mine (3, actually) from engrams. The supercell is a great exotic AR and perfect for killing trash mobs, but again, it's a random drop.

I was reading a good article on Reddit from a guy who did a lot of weapon testing at different light levels. TLDR, the attack level of your weapon is much more important in determining enemy damage than your guardian's overall light level. If your weapon attack is not equal to or greater than the enemy light level, you will suffer a drop-off, which is pretty significant after only a couple points difference. That's why it is much more important to get your weapons >290 (and ideally >300) for the raid.

There are only four artifacts (look at the last digits in the serial number, 001 thru 004). Speculation is these are part of the Sleeper Simulant quest line that will someday drop. After the first week, they stopped dropping, and I swear I only got a total of 4 on the two characters I was running at the time. Surprisingly, I had one drop for my Lock yesterday, so I don't know how these are supposed to drop anymore.

There's only five gun artifacts total .Most people have only found four.
