Before the draft, I had warmed up to Mariota and realized that it was inevitable we would draft him, so I wasn't mad when we did. My stance was still the same on his skills, but I was excited, nonetheless. Months before the draft, I pointed out that he would be the pick because of his marketability and it will buy Whiz/Webster at least an extra year. This is like the third time you've pointed this out and I'm no longer going to respond to dumb stuff like this... I was wrong about Mariota, thankfully. Obviously I like Mariota. He is our franchise. Why wouldn't I like him? You're just butthurt because I said Chip is garbage. I didn't single out the Eagles because I have anything against them. I singled out Chip because he sucks. Never should've been given full control of the team. Had he remained just a head coach, I'd still be a believer in him as I was until he started gutting the team. I would hardly say I railed on him all of last season, but I was pretty set on Cooper/Williams and eventually Winston. Warmed up to Mariota before the draft because it became apparent to me that Webster/Whiz were not going to bet their jobs on Zach Mettenberger. I wanted us to lose every single game after we blew a 25 point lead to the Browns and fell to 1-4. Tanking was always in our best interest. I'm pretty consistent with what I say... but yea, I'm human and can be wrong. At least I have the stones to make predictions and own up to being wrong when I am. Most just sit back and keep their predictions to themselves so they never have to eat crow. |

![]() You're the one sounding butthurt. I just thought it was funny how you literally railed on Mariota all last season, when there was massive upside there. As for predictions, lol, I've probably been predicting sports games longer than you've been alive and I can safely tell you, there is no predicting sports games. Unlike you, I knew my team was going to be a big question mark. Teams just aren't in the habit of releasing the Pro Bowl QB/RB/WR at the same time. But Chip realized, at best, he had a 10-6 team that was going to be a salary cap nightmare in a few years. So he made a few deals and will give it a go. I can respect that. We will have to wait another 13 games to see if he made the right calls. Even better, the NFC East is such a mess right now that 8-8 could win it. |

I'm surprised he hasn't been cut already. Apparently the Steelers were going for 2 pts because he was only barely making the PAT's ![]() |

So he traded guys to dump salary? When you're trying to knock me for being wrong, it's hilarious to mention Chip making moves to free up cap space. That's clearly a factually incorrect statement. Let's take a look at the Eagles main moves in the offseason... In 2015 Foles was set to make $1.3M whip Bradford was scheduled to make ten times that at $13.1M. Cap clearing move though! McCoy's average salary is $8M. Murray's is also $8M. Cap clearing move though! Cary Williams has an average salary of $6M. Maxwell (who I said would be a bad signing and was way overpaid) has an average salary of $10.5M... Cap clearing move though! Chip actually spent more on the new players than the studs he let walk, so your theory is a fail. The only real cap clearing argument you can make is that he let Maclin, Mathis and Herremans walk... And how's that working for the OL? Letting Maclin walk wasn't such a bad idea, but it would've better if he didn't inexplicably trade for Bradford. And the sad part is he didn't just trade for Bradford straight up. He gave up a draft pick for him. The Rams had to be dying on that trade offer. |

Please do some research! McCoy was due to make 11.9 mil this season. So we basically swapped him for Murray and gained Kiko Alonso. A great move that saved money AND filled a position of need. While I didn't like the Foles trade... I'm not the guy running the show. Bradford has much more upside and is playing on a 1yr tryout deal. Again, a good move based on his history of injury. Cary Wiliams?? LOL!! The Eagles secondary was among the worst in the league, and also historically bad. They had to do something there, and Maxwell was about the best available for their scheme. Cole, Mathis & Herremans were way overpaid for their age. None would take a pay cut, so that's just business in the NFL. Maclin they offered over 5mil and he turned it down. So they drafted Agholor. Basically a younger Maclin. If Chip wanted another 10-6 team he would've stayed put. So for all intents & purposes it's a rebuilding year! How quickly that rebuild takes, weeks or seasons remains to be seen. So not really sure what you think I'm making up. ![]() |
