The 3D is particularly good in The Smurfs, much more so than in the sequel I thought - the magic portal and battle scenes are particularly impressive.

Got to love Passive-aggressive Smurf...

Watched Paranormal Xperience.

UK Import which comes with spanish language and English sub titles.

Movie was pretty good and the 3D quality was excellent. Great depth and plenty of excellent pop outs. Sound quality was very good also.

I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the first time in 3D and while I like the film a lot I do feel that the 3D conversion is probably the least effective of all the Marvel movies to date.

The best thing I have to say about it is that it doesn't have that weirdly stretched look that the first one did at times. I enjoyed the dimensionality added in the countless boardroom scenes and during all the action at the end but for much of the film the 3D was so mild that it added nothing. You can tell just watching it that the film was shot and edited without a thought for 3D.

It's a shame nobody at Marvel really understands 3D, the strong impression I get is that they just see it as a cheap tack-on to get some extra cash which is a shame because if they did it properly it could really elevate their increasingly generic movies to another level of spectacle...

I watched the sequel last night for me the 3D was the same sadly the film was rubbish. Just a lazy sequel that had none of the charm or fun of the first film and most of the cast looked really bored.

Good 3D really can not save this lazy poor sequel.

Decided to watch one of my favorite 'go to' 3D viewing presentations - Sammy's Adventures 2. And during the watch I decided to create another chapter of the 'What's Roger Watching' series on my YouTube Channel. Mainly cause I kind of wanted to rant a bit on why Hollywood isn't giving us really great 3D presentations like the Sammy movies. True I was partaking in a tasty beverage at the time, but that only fueled my wanting to speak my mind.
Below is the link to my video (not sure if it will show up here since it's my first time linking a video). Hope I'm not breaking any protocol about posting certain things here in the forum. But, this is the last 3D Bluray I watched!

Yeah, Smurfs 2 has nowhere to go plot-wise but the 3D is respectable.

I watched Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles which I had previously enjoyed theatrically in 2D. Needless to say, I also enjoyed it in 3D, with it falling into my "nice" category of conversions. Good depth and dimensionality and bonus points for some of the 3D breaking out past the black bars too, though sadly not on the scale of G Force. It could really have done with more pop-out though...

Out of all the conversions I've been watching recently, it's Hercules that has impressed me the most. There are a lot of scenes with many people, spears, horses etc on screen and the 3D really helps establish them all in their own space. Good depth, a few welcome pop-outs - it's just a real shame that the unrated cut isn't in 3D...

The last native 3D movie I watched was Baby Blues 3D which I got region free from Hong Kong. As far as cursed doll movies go, this is not a very good one, but I'll watch any movie that's made in 3D. The 3D isn't too pronounced but respectable enough - thankfully there are a number of pop-outs, making for a reasonably entertaining experience as fingers are pointed out of the screen and babies are dropped out of windows. A few CG moments look odd but that just highlights how natural the real stuff is.The disc has flat English subs, so they do wreck the 3D on occasion, but that's no different from most foreign 3D movies. The trailer and teaser trailer on the disc are also in 3D, which is always welcome, I never understand why most 3D films don't include their 3D trailers on the disc.

Watched Poltergeist today and I actually enjoyed it. Obviously, not as good as the original and felt a bit rushed at times, but all in all, it was a fun little movie. The 3D was pretty solid throughout too.

I watched Poltergeist (2015) on Tuesday. Being a big Spielberg fan and having already read reviews about the movie I just tried to forget about the original and viewed the movie on its own merits. I thought it was enjoyable with good 3D. Better than the glut of comic book movies that have been coming out lately - IMHO. The acting was good, too. Overall worth the $25 price tag. I'd give it a B.

That is how I feel about most films in 3D. Either go hard or go home. The 3D on so many films literally adds nothing. Huge waste.

I also watched this yesterday. While a completely unnecessary movie, I really liked some of the ideas put forward in this.

Gotta say, though: If you're going to pick a little girl to replace the iconic Poltergeist girl, pick one who's cuter. Not a cute girl at all. Weird face.

Also: Rockwell's character was seriously unlikable. I think the director got that wrong.

Yeah, I actually agree about Rockwell. I usually love him but I actually found his character to be the weakest part of the movie. Didn't think I'd ever say that since he's usually the BEST part of the movie.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (Best Buy Vision Steelbook)

Took it out for a test spin and did like the improved 3D over the theatrical outing i had. Still not the most amazing 3D but not a real weak one either. Viewed the opening and Hulk Buster scene to demo only. So maybe their is more to the 3D disc than what i am reporting now.
