I don't get what you mean by grind to level 40. I just picked up the expansion a week ago Thursday, and I have one Guardian up to 300 Light. That's just doing the expansion story, quests, bounties and half of a King's Fall raid. I have yet to engage in any overly repetitive activities, compared to the Launch version of Destiny.

As for the bounties, they seem pretty similar. Kill 10 Fallen majors. Kill 10 Hive majors. Get 3 assists in one match. Get 10 precision kills in Crucible. They are pretty literal in their meaning, not requiring too much intuition.

Have you started the sword quest yet?

On my first character it was easy, because I had a bunch of stored bounties already finished and loads of new story content to sink my teeth into. I don't have that on anyone else and am not particularly interested in doing the story three times.

I found that with the bounties before, they were far more specific and you had to sometimes change the way you play but to complete them but now they just unlock as you play, no tweaking required. That is what I mean by intuitive.

Yeah, I have one sword so far, trying to get it to 290 so I can get an exotic sword!

Red Spectre AR dropped for me in Crucible the other day. A lot of hype about this being the best AR for PvP as it has High RoF/High Impact. Not gave it a run yet but rolled with Focus Fire, Perfect Balance or Hand Laid Stock and Life Support. Not a perfect roll but better than most. Anyone else have this gun?

Tried the raid again from the start, this time with my defender Titan. I went with a non Blu-ray group, from someone on my friend's list. They did a good job explaining things through. The video that someone posted some days ago about

[Show spoiler]3-manning the totems

for that one section worked wonders this time around. It took no time at all to beat that section. The next two sections went by relatively quick. But it was getting late and I decided to bail, so I have a checkpoint at the

[Show spoiler]Deathsinger sisters.

Hopefully I can get some people with me to finish it before the reset. If not, no big deal. Can always start again Tuesday. I got a couple nice drops from the raid, but I'm looking for more now. So both my Warlock and Hunter are now 296 (but possibly higher), and my Titan is now a 299 thanks to a couple raid pieces.

I just got the quest for the exotic blade and I have not even started it yet, I'll watch some video's on it today but I'm in no hurry to obtain it because it sounds like a pain in the ***.

Yup. I had to get void ability kills on my hunter. Per Scarletknight's advice, mayhem crucible was the easiest way to get it. I finished it up rather quickly after a few games.

Waiting for arms day now to get my sword!

I'll have to get Void kills with my Titan, and the only way to do that is with the grenades. Correct?

When are you available for for that section tonight? I have that checkpoint, too. If more than one in the party knows what they are doing, it should not take too long. Certainly not as long as the jumping before it.

Just finished my crucible kills on the Legendary sword yesterday, right before I quit. I know a couple of the upcoming tasks require some timing, and maybe we'll be a the same spot at the same time.

Then you are making it a grind by choice, opting to run three maxed out characters. But, then, this choice would make a grind out of any RPG-like game with unique character classes. Create 6 Heroes in Diablo 3, and it gets pretty grindy to get them to level 70. Would be the same way for Dragon Age. If you turn it into a job, it's going to feel like a job.

But you need three maxed out characters, you miss out on so much to play with just one. I'm almost there now though, almost there. Somehow I got my Warlock to level 39 with less than 200 light so I'm forced to grind myself through level 20 Strikes and PVP to get this guy up. Storm caller is surprisingly rubbish during PVE, you think it'd be made for it.

Most of us have a save at that point. I am more than willing to help out tonight because I still need two pieces from the raid for the Touch of Malice. Some more gear would also be nice so I can get above 300.

My wife is out of town so I am good to go at 7 CST.

It's fun!! I did raid 4 times plus an extra oryx lol 1.5 hours is where we at. We wasted good half hour waiting on ppl for jumps... Next time ppl e getting left behind lol

Each classes sets of abilities and unique items/quests plus if you have three characters you can run each reset three times to maximise your chances of getting at least one good new item each week. Me and my best friend have three Guardians each of one class and you have no idea how useful it is to know that we can always have the right combinations for every scenario.

Melees as well. I would farm relic iron on Mars patrol and try killing mostly with grenades/melees (I max my discipline and use Armamentarium). Once you get your 10 rare mats, go to Dark Beyond (we've woken the hive) to finish your grenade/melee kills. I've just done the Mars bit for 30 minutes, and I'm at 3 rare mats and 27% kills.
