Forbes thinks The Force Awakens may get a PG rating.

Just give me a proper badass villain with no 'twist' and I'll be happy.
They seem to be pushing Kylo Ren as the "new Vader", at least in the marketing. My opinion (so it's not a spoiler) is that Adam Driver will be around for all three films of the new trilogy and there will be several "one and done" characters like Phasma or whomever Andy Sirkis is playing.

That I don't mind. Disposable villains are disposable, e.g. Tarkin, Boba Fett and Jabba all played their part in the OT. But give me one proper badass conducting the orchestra INSTEAD of setting someone up to be the next badass and then cutting them in half.

If Ren is actually a Skywalker, I could see that happening. Ren achieving what Anakin couldn't and what he feels is the Skywalker destiny.

Plain & simple

If this thread goes off topic again then I will close it for a week.
Do not bring discussion of the first 6 movies into this thread Unless ~ It has to do with this movie ~ #7.

There is already a thread for the first 6 films & that is where it belongs!!!!

We've seen people involved with the production saying this will be the best of them all, better than A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. So set your expectations accordingly.

I think it'll rank 3rd or 4th at best. I'm not expecting it to beat ANH and TESB as being the best. And I say 4th, because some like RotJ or RotS as their 3rd favorite. I am hoping it'll be as good ANH and TESB. I think as compared to the other first films of the other 2 trilogies, TFA will be more like ANH than TPM. I just feels like the look of this captures the look of the originals with the sheen of the prequels. Which is a nice balance.

StarWars7news reports that:

Bob Igor says no Disney logo and fanfare at the beginning of the force awakens, but the Lucasfilm logo will not have the 20th century fox anthem set before it like in the past. Get ready to listen to something different from now on.

It's pretty much confirmed already when they released the digital collection.

This how it will start:

I still say those Disney animators need to have Tinker Bell fly out over the Disney logo with a lightsaber dotting the 'I' instead of her pixie wand. Silly yes, but cool, nonetheless.....

Called that a while ago: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...o#post10073083

Right, I figure the only way to stop Terminated/Zarkon/The Deacon from spamming the thread with links to fluff is to get in on the act.

I saw this bit about BB-8 this morning, it's nothing Earth-shattering but there's a new [to me! ] pic of
[Show spoiler]the droid getting rescued/bought from a scavenger by Rey.
What were we saying about whether JJ would continue the parallels with the other movies?

Well, we were saying stuff about parallels and discussing things in a civil manner but now those posts are lost in time, like [gulp] tears in rain. I did actually turn my thoughts to Ep VII in several of the posts which were jettisoned, but what can you do?

That BB-8 photo actually came out a couple of months ago with all the Entertainment Weekly articles back in August. It looks great though, and certainly makes it appear that this film is going to evoke the original, at least in the first act.

Although I've read the rumours about the film's last scene
[Show spoiler](Rey arriving at the island where they filmed in Ireland, finding Luke Skywalker and giving the lightsaber to him)
, I can't help wondering if they're wrong and there will in fact be a victory celebration scene to mirror Ep I and Ep IV. I'd kinda like that . But maaaaaybe this is going to break the happy ending for part 1 routine and end on a dark note or at least a more ambiguous one?

They should've worked on the likeness a lot more; it looks like he had a major stroke.
