Skyfall is a unique title and typical Bond.Reminds me of Thunderball. Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day are the worse, generic and unoriginal. In fact I prefer Tomorrow Never Lies. The original title before they decided to change it.
Brosnan never had any Fleming titles only two that represented links with Bond. Goldeneye Ian Fleming's home was a good choice. The World is Not Enough is typical Bond. Here is my top list use of non Ian Fleming book titles. 1 Skyfall 2 Spectre 3 Goldeneye 4 Never Say Never Again 5 The World Is Not Enough 6 Licence To Kill( May have prefered Licence Revoked) 7 Die Another Day 8 Tomorrow Never Dies Also I think a A View To A Kill is better shortened then From A View To A Kill. Thoughts? Last edited by jonam; 10-11-2015 at 09:15 AM. |

Apart from the Skyfall comment, I agree mostly with what you said.
I think I prefer Tomorrow Never Dies to Tomorrow Never Lies. However, it must be noted that the word 'Die(s)', has been used 3 times throughout the series already and 'Kill'-twice. So, they ought to refrain from using those words for titles in the future. Same goes for the word-'Gold'. I prefer 'Licence to Kill' to 'Licence Revoked', myself. And dropping 'From' 'A View to a Kill' was the right thing to do. I'm certain that the still unused Ian Fleming title 'Risico', will eventually be in the future. In the film at least it isn't Bond's family motto, it's Sir Thomas Bond's, we aren't given any evidence that 007's a descendant, he just misappropriates the motto for himself.

I have the UV Ultraviolet code from my James Bond Collection on Flixster.
I have logged in tonight to watch Casino Royle and although the film is in my collection and showing as HD. There is a line a little further down that reads "Currently Available in SD only" and this caveat is on ALL Bond titles. I am a bit shocked and peed off over this. It's sold as a HD UV Collection, when redeemed it shows as HD but then only streams in SD, what is the point in that in this day and age ? Has anyone else noticed this and can anything be done to sort this out ? Is it Flixster who need a kick in or MGM or whom ? Or is it that my IPad Mini is simply not picking it up ? That said I have 150+ films and the majority are HD and there is no message anywhere else, just on the Bond Titles. I also noticed that AirPlay is not at all happy streaming these Bond films. Seems that only sound carries across and no picture. But then I find AirPlay a bit hit & miss. Any help / advice / comment most welcome here. |

Not all the devices and providers stream HD versions. It's possible if you sign-in through Vudu or another service you'll get it in HD.

Sorry to be dense, but is Vudu applicable to all Flixster content ? Is it an alternative to Flixster, which generally I find quite indifferent in terms of use. Is Vudu available in UK ?

Your Flixster content that is UV is supposed to be able to share with Vudu. That's how it works for me. But, Vudu on iOS plays back in SD as well. They only recently added HD to the Android version of the app. However, on a TV, if you get the Vudu app, it will play in HD. Don't know how AirPlay works, though. Hope some of that helps.

Thanks for the advice. I had a look on the UK iTunes Store and there is no Vudu app. I checked my Smart TV. No Vudu App either :-( Maybe it's not available on UK ITunes or Sony Tv's ?
Looks like a Fox / MGM or Flixster screw job to me...seems to be no way to actually get a HD stream in the UK. I looked at VUDU.com and you need to be in U.S to legally get an account you can link to your Ultraviolet. So frustrating |

Tom. I'd give it a miss. Honestly, I wish I did. I have now emailed Fox ( MGM ) customer service to see what is behind his situation. I see no justification in selling a product that is listed as HD for which it is ( within the UK ) impossible to steam in anything other than SD
I'd send back to Amazon, but can't as I have redeemed the poxy code ! So annoying - if I wanted SD steaming fair enough. But I did not ! |

Thank's for your wisdom and yes I am indeed going to give it a pass. I just don't need all the aggravation that you are going through. Yes, irresponsible to sell a product that you can only stream in standard definition. I hope that customer service can help you out with this major issue. They definately should make it right with you. You sure did not get what you paid a mammoth amount of money for. Sincerely, --Tom |

As I am in the UK the price was not too bad @ £69.99 on Amazon
That said given I paid mostly as I wanted the HD UV Code it is £69.99 too much! I completely agree about the Flixster App. It seems so "buggy" however in Uk what alternative is there ? |

iTunes is actually a great platform in a sense as it simply works. I use it a lot when films are a realistic price but also have to say that somethings are very expensive. The Bond Collection being an example @ £109. Hence why the Blu Ray & UV set @ £69.99 seemed the better buy.
To add to my earlier frustrations. I logged on to Flixster via my Now TV box. The Bond films are not available to stream AT ALL via this method. You don't get a "watch now" option. No SD no HD nothing other than a movie poster, synopsis and bugger all else. Fox / MGM hang your heads in shame. |
