Haha, yeah. Posters and a tote bag. Totally forgot about them, which goes to prove how utterly pointless they are.

Big whoop

It would be nice if the tin cans had some sort of plastic display stand for each one, like the MAN OF STEEL Limited Edition Metal "S" set had included, but wishful thinking gets one nowhere. This was one of my favorite movies of the year, fourteen years in anticipation, and it just deserves better treatment than this, IMO.
Yeah, I'm extremely disappointed with the output for the year's biggest movie so far (until Star Wars).

I had to import a steelbook from Amazon France. Biggest movie of the year, giant smash success, and Universal can't even put out a U.S. steelbook? Fifty Shades of Grey gets a steelbook, but not a Jurassic Park movie.

Universal should take a few notes from WB when it comes to exclusives. The Dark Knight Rises had a steelbook, a digibook, and a cool Batman cowl. Even Paramount went all out for Star Trek Into Darkness, with a steelbook, alternative slipcover, and a USS Enterprise figure gift set. The Amazon set with the dinosaur book ends are comparable, but the figures are unimpressive.

For such a big, successful movie, I really expected more than an ugly mints tin, a lunchbox, and a t-shirt.

It's Jurassic World... Part of a Jurassic franchise...

If you wait, there will be a Steelbook. Look at what happened with the previous three. And even the three forthcomers are being repromoted in round tins.

Universal isn't going to let money fall off the truck just like an Aca-awesome edition of Pitch Perfect 2 is almost guaranteed for when Pitch Perfect 3 is about to come out.

So a bunch of junk minus the Target release. If the extra content is digitally based then it's a pass for me as well.

If it's HD content on a BD instead of a DVD then I will go that route.

It's almost certain to be a bonus DVD, based on past Universal bonus content releases.

Also, some countries such as Australia and Taiwan will have collector's edition releases with a bonus features DVD, likely with similar content.

Default Possible Target 2D exclusive?

I was looking at Universal's Jurassic World website, and I noticed that for the limited time offers available, it displays a picture of the 2D collectible tin edition with the Target bonus sticker, which appears to be the same sticker as the 3D exclusive. However, when you click on order now, it then links to the 3D exclusive.

[Show spoiler]

There's only a Limited Edition 2D listing on target.com. It was originally the 2D exclusive listing, so the description still states "Target Exclusive" even though the title no longer states that, but no pictures on the listing indicate it is a exclusive. Of course, it's possible that if a 2D exclusive exists, it may be in store only.

Either way, I think I will order the 2D Limited Edition on target.com and see what happens. Worst case scenario, I'll return it in store.

Update: The 2D Limited Edition at Target will also have the Target Exclusive bonus content!

Tote bags, t-shirts, and posters? It's no wonder they are giving this stuff away.
