I already own the 1600 and just picked up the 3600. I was going to pick up an even more expensive model but the the 3600 does everything I need it to do so I don't need any of the extra features when it comes down to it since they won't get used.
I got the 1600 a few years ago and liked that it was very slim. A huge selling point for me at the time. |

I haven't tried any experiments with or without it. The main reasons for me is surge protection, power stabilization and I personally don't like power surge strips. In the end if your in the market to get a power center get the one you like right??? As long as it serves it's purposes. As for propaganda.............I think every company has a sales pitch. I personally like Monster Power power centers/conditioners..... Personal preference. |

I have the 1600 one also , been thinking on going up to the 3600 also .I like it for surge protection also , & when compared to an extended warrenty price vs the Monster , it was cheaper . plus I actually got to own it..LOL Also its funny I found this post as I'm looking at the new Monster Power book beside me, My Daughter works for Circuit City and tonight she called me and said she had some Monster stuff for me. She just got home from a Monster training day, She gets me all the goodies they have t-shirts ,books and so forth , last one she got to meet Noel lee ( head Monster) and he gave me his e-mail too. and said to send a line and he'd send me alot of of cool stuff.. |

Quick update:
Just installed the plinths, and I've also been running the speakers for about 25-30 hours. With the install of the plinths, I have heard some improvement in the bass, and I've also noticed some changes for the better, but nothing major as of yet. Also, how do I run a sub since my preamp doesn't have a sub out. I was told to use a y-cord or something off my amp? Yes no, ideas? Sub is a Supercube I with both speaker posts and a sub in input. |

You could use the "high level" input/output or maybe use "Y Cables" on the low level inputs. Using the "Y Cables" will change the voltage and impedance however.
Old school two channel setups used passive subs or high level input/outputs if a powered sub was used. I think your best bet is to use the "high level" (speaker level) input/outputs. Maybe someone else could help chime in on this too??? |
