That's what I figured.

That's why I posted earlier that his last name was 2187.

EDIT:
It's actually sort of an homage to THX-1138. The main character is goes by the name "Thex."

Lightbulb Figuring out the timeline order of scenes and shots shown so far

I'm honestly very surprised that no one, anywhere, has attempted to speculate on the order of scenes and shots we've seen. We've seen roughly 5 minutes of the movie. I think the newest trailer gave us the main 3 leads' motivations, and giving an overall idea of how the movie will be set up. We've yet to find out real motivations concerning Poe Dameron, General Hux and Captain Phasma, outside of what side they're fighting on.

I'd say we meet Poe and Finn together first. Finn attempts to rescue Poe but fails. He takes a tie fighter, but is hit and crash lands on Jakku. Rey witnesses this and investigates on her speeder. (Somewhere during all of that, or preceding it we see Rey scavenging through the Star Destroyer. Unless she goes there after meeting Finn.)

Tie fighters are sent after Finn. Rey (with or without Finn, and possibly Han and Chewie) finds the Millennium Falcon. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren tortures Poe Dameron. Captain Phasma and a storm trooper squad arrive on Jakku to capture him. Kylo Ren joins them later. They ravage the residents of Jakku's town.

At this point, Rey and Finn meet or have already met Han and Chewie. Han tells them everything is true that they've been told. Han hasn't seen Luke for a very long time. But he knows of someone who could tell them more about the Force. Enters Maz Katana and traveling to her place. After she speaks with Rey and Finn, Snoke summons Kylo Ren about an awakening in the Force. The Dark Side and the Light. They both feel it.

Meanwhile, Poe Dameron has escaped somehow by himself or with assistance from someone or by the Resistance. (Not really sure. But I believe the lake shot of the X-Wing formations takes place on Maz Katana's planet when the First Order tracks our heroes. I'm not sure if Poe is apart of that scene.)

Maz assists the group into hiding and/or back to the Falcon. Rey watches as Tie Fighters and ships fly above her. Unbeknownst to them, Kylo Ren is in the forest as well. The battle begins there.

Now, I think Kylo Ren either interrogates Maz about Rey and Finn or, after the aerial battle, the group have been hiding in the forest. In which, the fight between Kylo Ren and Finn ensues. (This is where the brown jacket/fur speculation comes in. Because someone or something happens to end that battle, obviously. Because we're pretty sure Kylo Ren makes it the the Starkiller base in the end.)

The climax of the movie probably begins with that shot of all the storm troopers together. And then the final battle happens. The ending, going by TPM and ANH, will be a relatively happy ending of some kind. (However, since Return of the Jedi has a happy ending—I'm not sure. That would be happy endings back-to-back if one were to watch them together. Which is a given. Really, outside of RotS and TESB, the rest of the movies have happy endings. AotC has both. So, TFA might follow suit.)

Because I don't want to speculate any further, General Hux, Captain Phasma, Leia, Luke, and Max Von Sydow's characters will, of course, all factor in at some point. But I'm not sure, personally.

I do think between all of that, General Hux is a double agent for the Resistance, he'd have an interesting arc over the course of 10-15 minutes total. Captain Phasma seems like she might die or go on her own path. And we'll probably meet some of the characters Rey deals with on Jakku.

With all that said, if that timeline is right, we know the bulk of the movie really by 5 minutes of footage. Hopefully, there will be a few more surprises and set pieces not shown yet. Thanks for reading!

I don't think Hux is a double agent. If he was a grunt, maybe, but he's too up the ladder. Gleeson's description of him as pure evil doesn't leave much leeway either.

On the other hand, I can see Kylo Ren and his followers going third party. Using the First Order as a stepping stone, so to speak to achieve their own goals, whatever they might be.

That was pretty good! But I'm hoping the trailers didn't reveal every major scene, sets, etc from the movie.

another reason why Lucas's inane "jedi don't get married so I can shoehorn in a forbidden romance" just makes NO sense after a while. Along with Midichlorians

Jedi are encouraged to love unconditionally. That includes their mates and children. That's not the same as attachment.

Well, Snoke is head of the First Order, so the Sith (or whatever they're associating themselves with) are already using politics for the Dark Side to have complete control. I mean, unless Kylo Ren becomes a character like Suko from Avatar (which he seems like), he might go and do his own thing.

As for Hux, I'm just going by a rumor. I'm not sure if you read it?
[Show spoiler]He would pretty much become a big hero in the end. As well as revealing that he was working under Luke's orders.
But it might not be true. Especially for this movie already having Finn switch sides. I also like it, because I think Dohmnall Gleeson is one of the best actors among his piers. So, he'd do well with a complex part of a character with a secret.

Thanks! 😅 Yeah, after watching all the trailers back-to-back and remembering rumors, I was like "Oh, man! I hope they're leaving some stuff for surprises." Because at first it seems like the new trailers all action, but in doing so seedling revealed all the set pieces. And those pretty much become the story line and all the little things become filler and help things flow better instead of ACTION! ACTION! ACTION! I'm definitely going to try my best not to read or watch anything else if I'm on the right track.

I love that the Han/Leia theme plays over the Millenium Falcon then Rey talking to him.

After watching the trailer what must be 1138 times, I'm incredibly struck by Han's speech about how "it's true, all of it… the dark side, the light side", etc. This is the ex-smuggler who once laughed at Luke's training in the Falcon and told him "kid, I've been from one corner of this galaxy to the other and I've never seen anything that'd make me believe there's some all powerful Force controlling everything." (Paraphrased, of course) And now after a lifetime with his "new family", he gets it; he's a believer. Even in a short trailer, we get the next absolutely-satisfying step in his character arc. So good.

There's way too many Star Wars innuendos. I should stop, but I shouldn't FORCE myself..

I'm glad you commented on this. It's one of the most telling parts of the new trailer and I think a profound enunciation of the title "The Force Awakens." By Han's time the Jedi have all been pretty much wiped out. Even some of the ruling military leaders among Darth Vader doubted the power of the force. Now if the force has gone "dormant" so to speak, imagine what Han and Leia's kids' generation must think of it. Fairy tales, non-sense. Until "strange" things begin to happen.

I can't wait to see this flippin' film. I've already got my tickets for opening night, 7 PM, Dolby Atmos.
