Got to see it last night and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was neatly tied into the previous Craig movies including a rather nice opening title sequence. Pity the song was not stronger. This is a pretty plot heavy movie yet had plenty of action with nods to classic bond gadgetry. The ending was rather fascinating and leaves the franchise wide open to go many different directions. Going again tonight this time with the missus to get a different perspective.

Sam Smith's voice ruins "Writing's On The Wall". Would've been a billion times better with a female singer.

Obviously not yet since the movie isn't out for another week. So are you saying the movie is as pretentious and whiny as his voice? Because if so, this movie is going to be garbage. The dude can't sing for **** and the fact that he has to have a machine do part of the singing for him shows. It also doesn't help that the music stays monotone for pretty much the entire song and goes nowhere.

Just came back from seeing it. Absolutely brilliant. A tour de force of spectacle and epic set pieces that is perfectly balanced with the characterisation. A perfect follow up to Skyfall and a perfect continuation of Craig's Bond. Seeing this again on Saturday
I was really hoping that Craig sticks around for one more film, but now I am beginning to wonder if it is right for him to stick around. This film is the perfect stepping stone for him to step back from the role, not only would he accomplish what only Connery had managed to do (have three classic Bond films) But he would also accomplish what no Bond actor has done yet; leave on a very high note. Maybe he should quit now whilst he's ahead. |

After Casino Royale I really thought they were going to remake the previous movies in 'Book' order. However, that did not happen and we got Quantum of Solace and a great script thanks to the writers strike. Then...they presented us with Sky Fall. Q, Money Penny were finally back and then they switched M at the end. Now, SPECTRE is supposed to be THE Bond of all Bond movies.
Reading the reviews and some thoughts from people who have seen it I can say I am still looking forward to it. You haters can keep on keeping on. Seek your negative attention and eat it up. Yum. For those who like Bond in his current version will enjoy it no matter what. Why? Because it is better than not having ANY Bond movies at all and Craig proves once again he wants his Bond to be good. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

OK then 4/5
The good It felt more "Bond" than Skyfall, more due to [Show spoiler] Q!, seriously he was great fun, him and Moneypenny had most of the laughs. The feel of the team behind him, it felt like old Bond The Score! Oh my the Score! godlike! The practical effects, the [Show spoiler] show why second and third units are were its at for Bond filmsI can see why it was cut, [Show spoiler] was bad for a 12a let alone an uncut version![Show spoiler] I love how it tied all the Craig films up nicely, I don't see where they can go from here The pre-titles bit is great, and the opening "one shot take" thing is great stuff. Also the [Show spoiler] is back at the front The From Russia With Love train fight The bad The film is ugly, not the direction but the cinematography. The yellow piss filter is just not nice, I miss Deakins. The link to [Show spoiler] in Craig Bond films now? Or will Bond be the same person? The CGI in places was naff, like super naff. Dave was underused but effective The ending, [Show spoiler] Bond film with Craig C love the actor and the jokes, but [Show spoiler] Will update the more I think on it Last edited by dvdmike; 10-27-2015 at 06:56 PM. |

Be interesting if it does, seeing as they shot it anamorphic. That doesn't preclude shooting the action scenes flat, natch, but there hasn't been a lot of talk about it having switching aspects at all.

Saw Spectre this afternoon. Pretty good, but does drag in a few places. Christoph Waltz' villain doesn't have as big an impact as I thought he would. Definitely not on Skyfall level though. Here's my Craig list from best to worst:
1. Casino Royale 2. Skyfall 3. Spectre 4. Quantum of Solace |
