There's a 23-inch 3D TV?!? You'd probably have to sit about 5 inches from the screen to even see any 3D effect.

For picture quality, my best 3D display is only 16 inches, on my Vaio F 3D laptop. Haven't experienced a better active 3D display to date.

It's not the greatest. It's pretty dark and parts of faces black out.

As a comparison, Jurassic World didn't have any of those issues and a lot of it was at night.

I've noticed that more important than native 3D is proper lighting for the image to survive the glasses. It wasn't the greatest, but the enemies are made of light and it's only $23 for the 3D version. It makes the most sense to get that one anyhow.

Finally someone who understands that great 3d quality doesn't have to have a big screen to get great results.

You know what they say... Guys who have small 3D screens have large "man parts." My 2D/3D screen is 135-inches, but I need a magnifying glass to see my...[insert witty remark here].

Just kidding. As long as you are enjoying 3D that is all that matters!

Just watched Pixels 3D tonight. On the big screen the 3D was extremely impressive. On my calibrated DLP projection system the PQ is vibrant (not dark as someone else stated). Love the special effects and the movie is not as bad as critics say. The 5.1 sound quality is excellent, but it still surprises me that the 3D BD does not include the Atmos track (core 7.1) that the 2D BD offers. Pixels is pure mindless entertainment.

Thanks I really do enjoy the 3d i see on my 3d TV. Infact I have two 3d TV one is a playstation 3d display TV and the other is an lg computer monitor with reald 3d. Still I bet 3d looks even better on a much bigger display that's why I dream about buying the Sony hmz t3 vizor that way I can watch 3d movies on a screen as big as an IMAX screen.

Just watched this for the first time. I thought the 3d was great. Easily better than avengers 2 and jurassic world in terms of 3d. It wasn't too dark on my tv. A few moments of objects breaking into the black bars was nice. The movie was decent. A good amount, at least half of the jokes were flat, but I was entertained..."are you not entertained?"...it was a fun flick and the 3d was damn good.

^^^^^^

I agree with Poke. 3D strength in Pixels is better than in Avengers Age of Ultron and Jurassic World. I repeat, the special effects of the alien-generated classic arcade game battles are epic and total eye candy, especially in 3D.

You'll enjoy Pixels more if you inebriate your brain before you watch it.

Note: the 3D BD contains three trailers. The first one is for The Walk. As I sat there viewing it, I was overcome with a sense of vertigo during two moments. I will definitely purchase The Walk (3D) on release day.

Very much looking forward to the 3D then, the movie was very weak, but the FX scenes were great fun.

Precisely. Meh acting/silly at times. It's the classic arcade battles with the alien force that's the star of the movie.

And Michelle Monaghan, she is so gorgeous.

I actually thought Tyrion from Game of Thrones was awful in this, he was so unfunny but it was like he was convinced his character was hilarious.

One thing they could have done so much better on this release is the extras.

Each feature is basically measured in seconds, Pac-man's creator gets like 90 seconds.

I remember some of the early Fox comic movie stinkers like FF, Daredevil, and Electra.

Even if the movies weren't that good, the solid extras made it still worthwhile for comic fans.

There's so much more they could have done extras-wise with the old games, characters, and the people who made them.

When you look at the extras here, it gives you the impression that this project was devised more to exploit it's subject than celebrate it.

Popped into Target to see if they had different slips and surprisingly they're very nice.

They have a decent foil slip on the $18.99 blu, which has the advantage of being cheaper at least.

They have three exclusive lenticular slips (Large Pac-man, Large Galaga Ship, Donkey Kong & Centipede) which are a dollar more.

Unfortunately, the Donkey Kong cover was nowhere to be found and Target isn't carrying 3D for Pixels.

Based on photos, the DK cover has a dark background that doesn't seem to 'pop' and I guess someone decided to make fewer?

The main advantage of the Target slips is they put the focus on the game characters and smartly remove the cast.

However despite some nice covers it's hard to justify them, since the 3D version is only $3 more at BB.

Well if you also drive a big truck, then you're in real trouble down there...

My 3D TV is 55 inch, got it in 2013. It was brand new at the time as well. Anyways, I never did see this, is it worth it? I'm waiting to see if it'll pop up on Amazon Instant Video or Netflix, but I'd hate to waste money on an Amazon rental.

I snapped up all three of the Target-exclusive lenti slips on Tuesday around 9:30 am. The store in my area had only 6 of them (3 of each). I like all of the covers, but the stand out is the Centipede/Space Invaders/Donkey Kong cover. Second best is Pac-man at the Golden Gate Bridge (which, by the way, doesn't occur in the movie -- Pac-man attacks New York City). Galaga is nice, but a tad bland compared to the other two.

Yeah, the $60 I paid for them is a bit overkill, but boy will three of my relatives be surprised when they get Pixels for Christmas (I'm keeping the slipcovers).

The 3D edition of Pixels also has a nice lenticular slipcover (I got my copy from amazon).

Just finished watching this and I will say I was very pleased with the 3D, probably the strongest of all the movies I have seen this year, colors were vivid especially the pixels, there were objects in the foreground a lot of the times which would give it even more depth. There was a great shot near the beginning
[Show spoiler]when the first attack happened and a hole was blown through the wall, just before the soldier walks out of it, I thought the depth looked great looking out through that.
there wasn't much in the way of pop-outs but images would be outside the screen quite often. All in all me and the family enjoyed it, and it was a lot better than I expected it to be.
Thought Sean Bean was good and it was nice to hear his full accent again without him holding it back.
