Aftermath isn't so great IMO. Read Shattered Empire instead.

For those who don't know "Aftermath" is a novel while "Shattered Empire" is a six-issue comic book series. I have picked up Shattered Empire but have not read it yet (issue #4 came out last week) and it leads right into Force Awakens.

It's 4 issues, and doesn't lead into The Force Awakens really. It all feels like it's set over a few weeks following the Battle of Endor. Still really enjoyable though, I liked it a lot, and you get some back story on a main character from TFA which is interesting.

No it doesn't. Still a big time gap between issue 4 and the movie.

It doesn't? That is odd because I remember when it was first solicited I could have sworn it said it led into the events in Force Awakens, acting as a somewhat of a prequel to the film, but I guess that info was wrong. It's four issues? A guy at my local comic shop said it was six issues, thanks for the clarification.

It would be cool if the characters were recording their sining voices for a track in the films music..
