Default My New Home Theatre

I've recently had a home cinema installed. I'm very pleased how it turned out. I did design using Revit design package for the installers to follow. I also did the decorating and wood staining mid way through the build.

Spec:
Control 4 HC250 Automation
Kindle Fire tablet (to run equipment and lighting via Control 4)
HD Connectivity EX50 HDMI kit with IR
Arcam AVR380 Amplifier receiver (with 4k upscaling capability)
Speakercraft TS12 Subwoofer
Artcoustic Diablo SL Left and Right Speakers
Artcoustic SL-1 Centre Speaker
Monitor Audio CT265FX Rear Surround Sound Speakers (in ceiling)
Epson EH-TW9200 3D Projector
Panasonic DMP-BDT270 3D Multi-region Blu-ray player (with 4k upscaling capability)
ISS 1830FF Projector Screen with fixed black velvet frame
XBOX360
2No. Fibre optic starfield infinity panels
RGB Halo lighting
10 LED downlights
4No. Signature Anthracite module seats (linked)

Walls stripped and sanded in some places ready for home theatre build to start.

Had to move the door to accommodate the low level cabinets below the screen.

Wardrobes removed and timber frame installed for subwoofer, memorabilia and my steelbook collection.

Low level cabinets installed after door had been moved.

Corner shelving built to accommodate more of my memorabilia

Corner shelving fixed in place. Memorabilia shelving panels added. Subwoofer installed. Timber raft to house the starfield panels installed on to ceiling.

Start of the decorating. Grey painted walls, ceiling, skirting board and raft.

Wallpaper up

Aubergine Carpet down

Woodstaining completed to all shelving and cabinet top before Screen was installed. Lighting and star panels installed.

Blackout blind put up in window.

Memorabilia placed in to corner shelving

Panoramic view of room, projector, limited edition artwork and seating.

Better photos using a 'proper' camera below:

Image without room lighting on.

Kindle Fire loaded up with Control 4 which operates lighting, bluray, SkyHD, Xbox, Amplifier, Projector.

I'll add some clearer photos later......

Wow...I know other people that have done the starlight ceilings and I think they are so sweet. Makes me want to put in a drop ceiling in my basement so I can do it, too.

Dramatic before and after pics.

A timber/mdf raft was built and suspended through the ceiling by fixing it to the timber joists in the loft. The star panels were then fixed to the raft and halo lighting positions in the hidden lower area around the perimeter of the raft to give that glowing look.

It's a very nice effect. Congratulations on a great HT.

How long did it take?

Mine is almost done, got the barn door up today. Just need the TV mounted, my C4 guy to come in and do all the programming, and the couch to show up and I'm good to go.

The major works took 4 weeks from start to end. There were a few connectivity snagging issues afterwards but that didn't prevent us from watching movies.
