Disney Alice Through The Looking Glass 3D Blu-ray (2016) [Region Free]

Alice Through The Looking Glass (2016) (May 27)

The 3D was great on the first one so I'm really looking forward to this one.

Also, will be released in IMAX 3D.

First trailer is out and it looks great!

More than likely, but the Pixar release of Inside Out has me cautiously optimistic. (Only because it has the Disney 3D logo on it.)

But, yes, more than likely we'll have to import this, and Jungle Book (Live Action).

I hope we don't have to import, since the first one got a 3D Blu-Ray in the US...but if I must import, then so be it, at least I know I won't worry about region coding since it's a Disney release.

The petitions to Disney to bring 3D Disney movies on blu ray 3D in the US might have helped a little bit to get Disney thinking at least, but Pixar is like Marvel, in that they call the shots on whether they want their films released in 3D or not for home video. Disney seems to opt out here in the US in favor of saving money and the hope of big sales, ignoring the smaller but vocal 3D market for the time being, even though they use to be a leader in 3D early on.

All the theatrical 3D Pixar and Marvel movies have been consistently released on blu ray 3D in the US.

Disney's last US 3D blu ray for Disney animation was Wreck it Ralph if I remember.

I agree, although unlike Marvel, Pixar has Disney in the name (Disney Pixar) and the Disney 3D logo is on the spine of the Inside Out BD.

I realize, I'm reaching here, but ... Yeah, you're right. We'll probably have to import this.

Wreck it Ralph was the last U.S, Disney Animation Studios Blu-ray 3D release I have listed in my DVD Profiler collection. Frozen 3D and Big Hero 6 3D were imports.
Edit: ( "Inside Out" is Disney presents Pixar Animation Studios)

The last for U.S. Walt Disney Pictures, none Pixar release, is the catalog title "The little Mermaid: Diamond Edition 3D" (10-1-2013 release) and then "Oz The Great and Powerful" (6-11-2013 release).

Edit: "Alice in Wonderland 3D" was also Walt Disney Pictures (12-7-2010 release).

Default I really hope inside out's 3d bluray success has Disney consider releasing 3d blu ray

I really hope inside out's 3d bluray success has Disney consider releasing 3d blu rays again. I also really think this movie looks really good so I want to buy a 3d bluray without importing it or buying it on eBay.

Will certainly be getting this, I hope the 3D is as good or surpasses the first one.

The first film really rode the 3-D train all the way to the bank, so they owe us good 3-D.

Didn't expect to be interested after the disappointment of that film, but this looks unexpectedly good.

Agreed Taygan.
The 3D layering, though it had a cut out style, is high medium to strong 3D most of the way except for some earth scenes that are pretty mild 3D. The converted live action 3D also combined with CGI rendered graphics that had plenty of roundness; hybrid 3D.

That's cool to hear the spine added Disney Pixar this round. Maybe it's a positive change towards US 3D blu rays from Disney again.

Thanks Paul. Yes, Wreck it Ralph as the last US blu ray 3D from Disney and also Mermaid 3D for animation, cel conversion. I would've bought that one but they usually want 30$ + dollars. Now I don't even know what the cost is, but I'll have to look.

Another thing I loved about AIW 3D blu is it wasn't letter boxed and it filled the entire screen. Hope Disney does the same with ATTLG.

I'll have to watch it again, thanks Taygan. Fullscreen is great for 3D, agreed.

AIW was not letterboxed because it was not a scope film.

Trailer 2.

Going to see if I can see this in 3D, and also X-Men Apocalypse 3D during the weekend. I usually don't see two movies in one weekend but next weekend or so, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 3D hits theaters.
Support 3D in theaters.

JUNE 2016
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shadows 3D
Warcraft 3D
Finding Dory 3D
Independence Day 2 3D

At least this one looks really bright and colourful unlike the last one which was colourful but bathed in horrible grey clouds and darker tones which made it feel very forbidding and ugly.

Conversions have come a very long way since then as well so at least this one will probably have better layering and depth as the first was pretty shallow and pop-up booky.
